That was a sweet win last night for the Warriors. The Knicks looked like the chaotic mess that they are and the Warriors seemingly had their way with them on both ends of the floor.
I could go on and on about the great play of Baron and Stephen Jackson, but instead I am going to focus on the solid defensive play of the entire team last night. I believe the Warriors had 18 steals and forced the Knicks into a high number of turnovers. This aspect of the game is huge for the Warriors as turnovers lead to fast breaks and fast breaks lead ot easy points.
I have said this before, but the key to last season's run into the playoffs was defensive performances like last night. Getting in the passing lanes, forcing teams to make mistakes and other such things are key to success for the Warriors. I was pleased to see a great defensive performance last night and the addition of Stephen Jackson on the floor has really helped that.
Tonight will be tough in Boston, but if the team can come out and play as hard as they did last night on both ends of the court, they have a chance. Nellie must be proud as players were diving on the floor with less than two minutes remaining in the game and the team leading by over 20 points. This team has the drive and passion needed to be good. They had a rough start to the season, but we have 73 games to go to make up for that. I think they can and will do well going forward and we will see more performances like last night's.
