He left the Yankees because he's a Joe Torre faithful. Anyways...
I'd think the Giants may go after him, but I doubt we'll get him. I don't want him anyway. Let's go after quality players. We don't need to have Alex as our 2008 version of Barry Bonds. He'll could hit the way he hits, but it won't guarantee that we'll score a bunch of runs every game. I rather build around 2-3 players via free agency or whatever at the price it'd cost to get A-Rod. Absolutely not! Build around three great players instead of one megastar.

he's probably going to get like a 300 million dollar contract from chicago anyway.

remember fellas...this is a business...i voted that they should go after him. Heres why!
No team knows more about superstars then the Giants, as they had of course Bonds...what bonds did for the giants was fill those seats evey night. The Giants already have starting pitching; they need basically every field position but Catcher; and relief...now logic would say get multiple talent, but they tried that last year and that failed...so spend on A-rod; fill those seats; make some dough, and trade a pitcher or two (lowry!) for some prospects. The giants need to take a two year approach when it comes to this, and building it arund A-rod will do that. If that fails, then spend 15 mill/ 2 years on Mariano, and convince Hunter to come as well... but they need to go to a long term approach, not short |

well the biggest one in the last 50 years is bonds, no other team relied on 1 star so much as the giants have, the yankees are a colaberation of them. |
Hell Yeah! Gimme A-Rod! |

I heard the Dodgers were gonna get him cause of Joe Torre...? And I'm sure they'd shell out $300 mill for him, too. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

ARod wanted $350 million from the Yankees?
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3091277 I'm crossing my fingers that the Giants aren't even considering him. StuckInSoCal

I'm wondering what exactly Bonds was talking about with A-Rod at the home run derby. Hopefully it was to stay away in hopes of staying with the Giants.
