are you asking game are out right now or game that is going to come out

Right now, to justify the extra $100 that was spend by about 3.5 million people between now and November 06. I was askign 32, but you should feel free to answer as well, since you own a PS3 also.

I'm just curious as to what game or collection of games was so on the mark that it was worth paying an extra $100 for the system to play it 6 months early.

well in my ps3 game collection i have nba 2k7,resistace,moter storm (a really good game) MLB 07 the show, oblivion and call of duty3. most of the game that are really good comes out on fall. resistance and moter storm are hand down one of the best game i ever play but that my opinion,i think those two game worth and extra 100

The insane amount of extra features and add-ons are what "justify" the extra $100 I was willing to spend. Honestly, I'm just more fond of paying a little extra to get more bang for my buck. If I'm gonna end up paying $400 or $500, I may as well spend a little more to get a better deal.

Besides Resistance, I pretty much play multiplatform games right now (NBA 2K7, MLB 2K7). I do absolutely love Virtua Fighter 5, which is by far one of the greatest looking games of all time. I challenge anybody with an XBox 360 to play a few rounds of that game and try and tell me they've seen crisper backgrounds or more realistic settings.

As I stated earlier, the PS3's exclusive lineup won't hit shelfs until the holiday season. Most gamers understand that you can't judge the PS3 until you see the best it has to offer, like Final Fantasy, Grand Turismo, and Metal Gear. I'm also curious to see how Ratchet & Clank, God of War, and Red Faction transition onto next gen hardware. I've seen a small preview of Ratchet and it looks phenomenal.

As I stated earlier, money is not an issue for me when making a major purchase. At this stage in my life, the only major things I've bought are a car, a PS3, an audio system, and a laptop... and in every one of them, price was not an issue. Only the product. My buddy bought a 2001 Toyota Celica because it was cheap, semi-new, and fast. I, on the other hand, decided to fork out a little extra cash to pick up a 1998 BMW, which was equally quick and only 3 years older... the main difference between the two is simply all the little things. The seats are nicer, the handling absolutely trumps his, all these little things aren't breaking all the time (its been less than 2 years and he's already gone through a clutch, a steering wheel, several handles on the adjusters to his passenger seat, a rear view mirror, and a bad headlight. I, on the other hand, only had to replace my radiator once). You pay a little more up front, you get a lot more down the road. The same holds true for my decision to buy a PS3 over an Xbox.

Sure, I could have saved a little cash on the initial purchase, but then I would have been hit with monthly fee's to play online, additional costs for DVD playback, controller chargers... not to mention, my PS3 came with 60 GB of hard drive space, an HDMI port, and a WiFi web browser. Like I said, bang for my buck. All those features would have cost me an arm and a leg down the road, but I decided to fork out $100 extra dollars earlier... and the results have been wonderful.

the reason why the 60GB ps3 price drop to 499 is that sony is releasing a 80GBps3 with a game(moterstorm) for 599.for thoes people who dont have a ps3 and want one this is the time to get one.

Sony Corp. announced a revised PlayStation 3 console Monday with a bigger hard drive for storing downloaded content such as video games and high-definition movies.

The new $599 PS3 increases the system's storage capacity from 60 to 80 gigabytes and also includes a retail copy of the online racing title ``MotorStorm,'' a company spokesman said.

Starting Monday, the current 60 gigabyte model will cost $499 _ a $100 price drop.

The larger capacity machine won't be available in the United States and Canada until August.

It plays into the company's upcoming strategy of eventually offering downloaded high-definition movies, video games, movie trailers and demos, Sony spokesman David Karraker said.

Karraker said further details on high-def movies for download would be released at a later date.

The announcement comes two days before the E3 Media & Business Summit in Santa Monica, Calif., where dozens of industry heavyweights including Sony rivals Microsoft Corp. and Nintendo Co. are expected to show off their latest games and related products.

In April, Microsoft began selling a version of its Xbox 360 with a 120-gigabyte hard drive and a souped up high-definition video connection. Called Xbox 360 Elite, the black-colored system sells for $479.99.

Xbox gamers who already own the $399.99 20-gigabyte model can buy a snap-on 120-gigabyte hard drive for $179.99.

Karraker said Sony would use the E3 show to focus on two areas: ways to increase the number of consumers who own PS3s and other products such as the PlayStation Portable handheld system, and expanding the system's library of available games.

He said Sony would be releasing 100 new video games during the current fiscal year, including 15 titles that are exclusive to the PS3 such as the hack-and-slash action title ``Heavenly Sword.''

That's just the stated reason for the price drop. Even Karraker himself couldn't completely duck the notion that it has to do with poor sales:

The PlayStation 3 has been the third-place console in 2007 month-to-month sales, according to NPD, a research group that tracks sales in the U.S. Dave Karraker, head spokesperson for Sony's American PlayStation division, told MTV News that part of the reason to lower the price on the 60 GB model was to get the system in more hands. "We need to increase our installed base," he said. "That's no secret to anybody."

I hope this works out for Sony though because in the long run gamers benefit from having 3 consoles go head to head.
