Has anyone used the new Microsoft Vista? If so, what are your thoughts on it? What new features does it have? What are the main differences between XP and Vista? Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated.

I'll stay away from Vista for the next two years, at least. It's a resource hog... and more pretty than useful (although the DirectX 10 are, or will be, a must)
I don't have time right now, but tomorrow I'll post a full review of Vista, the way I see it. Basically, it depends on what you do with the computer. If it's for gaming, you'll probably want to install Vista (for the DirectX 10)... if not, you'll probably stay better with your current XP. |

I've just heard that it is not compatible with many programs and some hardware that some people use currently

Ok, take a look at this link:
http://badvista.fsf.org/what-s-wrong-with-microsoft-windows-vista It explains pretty well what's wrong with Vista. It can be overcomed, but I doubt is worth the hassle.
