I'm just goin by what the NBA players say...

Even when GP was hell on earth for other PG's, they still respected him. No NBA star respects Bowen. And many claim it's because he's a cheater.

who selects the all defensive teams? I am in the dark as to the process...

I think the coaches pick them... in a similar way as they pick the substitutes of the ASG.

But I'm not completely sure...

I don't think its the coaches; I thought it was some sort of behind the scenes judges... of course, I have no clue either.

can't find that info either, but I did discover this:

The awards go back to 1968, and since 1978 only ONE warrior has made even the 2nd all defensive team...don't peek, but take a guess...

I thought much of the gripes people have with Bowen was his tendency to slide under people which ofcourse can lead to injuries. Kinda funny that Pietrus has a tendency to do the same. I've never heard anyone claim Bowen is not a good defender. He might play a little rougher than most players appreciate but I don't see how it could be called cheating. The ref's will call foul if they think it's a foul and if they're claiming he's being a ref favorite then Kobe shouldn't open his mouth. I don't like him as a player but I think he's a damn good defender.
