This is the last season of his rookie contract... if he has a great season, we'll see how far the team is willing to go to keep him.
Honestly, I'm more worried about re-signing Monta than Pietrus or any other player at this point.

Who questioned him???
Both Taft and Ellis could have been first round picks. Taft was billed as a lottery pick the year before... and Ellis would have been higher up if he went to college. I thought the Warriors had a great second round last year.
Monta is great. He was spectacular at the end of the Lakers game, but Nellie brought him off the bench to make an immediate impact on the game. Monta might be thinking too hard about playing within the system. He needs to just go out there and go crazy on fools to lift the spirits of the team and the fans. We all saw it during their fourth quarter run.

Monta is definately more valuable than Pietrus right now. Monta being kept offers a great 3 guard rotation at least and that ensures the backcourt is taken care of. He is so young and will only get better. Signing him is a must

Which is why if Pietrus doesn't produce like Mullin would like, he's to go and Monta will be offered a better contract. I'd hate for this situation to turn out like the Arenas one.
