I think they don't need more pgs. They already have Jarret Jack, who McMillan loves (and having Jack was the reason he traded Telfair to end up with Roy) and Sergio Rodriguez. I'm pretty sure Jack will be solid, and Sergio is the pg with the most upside of the draft, more than Foye, Williams or any other pg. Just wait and see. Gasol and Sergio were the only reasons we won against Argentina.

About the other two, I'm pretty sure Aldridge will be a hell of a player for the Blazers... but I'm not so sure about Thomas. He's athletically gifted, yeah... but so was Stromile Swift.

Steve Blake is in Milwaukee. He went there in the Magloire trade.

Jack is a second rate PG right now and the Blazers have made a mistake going with him as their best PG. Not much can be expected from a late first round pick anyway, especially one that didn't do much in the time that he did play in his rookie season. Sergio is a bit of a project in the fact that he might do well but many European PGs have had potential and failed miserably in the nba. I hope he does well as it would be great to see another Spainiard succeed in the nba but it will likely take him at least two years to get good enough to make a real impact. The Blazers are fairly loaded at every position except PG so they should ypgrade there if they can as soon as possible

STFU spammer.

Anyway, Steve Blake looked like a pretty interesting prospect. Wouldn't have minded getting him...even if Magloire is can post. Blake would fit nicely with Nellie, but we don't need anymore damn guards! (Jrich, Monta, Wagner, Baron, McCloud, Brown, Owens.)

Count on the Utah guys being gone or just being injured reserves but that still leaves 4 or 5 guards, if Devin Brown is going to play some SG

Now that this thread is resurrected, McMillan has named Brandon Roy as the starter at PG for the Blazers...

He said he loves Sergio, but he's too young to be the starter this season, so I wonder what that means for Jarret Jack's future there.

:| That is an odd move by Nate McMillan. Roy was clearly the best shooting guard in the draft and McMillan is going to play him out of position his rookie year?!

Maybe McMillan is not as good of a coach as I thought...

Nah, they ain't going anywhere. He's just trying things to see what works... Maybe is a way to motivate Jack or something.

I think their best lineup would be:

PG - Jack
SG - Roy
SF - Miles
PF - Randolph
C - Alderige

Even though they'll probably start Ratliff, it would be more worthwhile to get Alderige experience. Like you said, they aren't going anywhere. Experience for Roy and Alderige will yield the most results for the future.

Roy is another player that was extremely impressive in Vegas, he ran the point a little and made good decisions :!:
