Former Camden High School basketball star Dajuan Wagner has agreed to a two-year contract with the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
Wagner's agent, Cherry Hill attorney Leon Rose, said Wagner would sign with the Warriors and report to their training camp in early October.
Wagner, the state's all-time leading scorer in boys' basketball with more than 3,400 career points, sat out of basketball last season with health issues.
Wagner underwent surgery for colitis in November.
Wagner was a four-time All-South Jersey player at Camden, graduating in 2001. He played one season at the University of Memphis.
Wagner was the No. 6 overall pick in the NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2002. He played three seasons for the Cavaliers but his playing time was limited by a series of injuries and by illness.

I disagree; it gives us a backup PG (besides those 2 Jazz jokers).
Instead of forcing Monta to play PG (out of position), we just made him the official backup SG to Richardson (if he's not already starting, with Rich at the 3).
All this means to me is that Baron Davis has a quality backup. Wagner is a damn good player... and Monta doesn't belong at PG. This fixes that.

Come on, Wagner can't play pg for sh*t... he's a me-first-second-third-fourth -and-five pg.
He's an undersized sg.
I think Wagner can distribute like Fisher could distribute; when it's his job, he'll do okay at it (5-6 per night)... but he prefers to score. That's better than Monta (who CAN'T playmake).
The fact that he was a better high school player than Monta is just a bonus.

Not at the nba level! He hasn't anything that makes him an asset!
Neither has Monta, if you wanna get technical.
And he won't get as much of a chance now with Wagner on the team.
We'll have to see what happens, Wagner might do well, he might not. I just don't think it was a smart signing considering the personnel already here and Monta needing a chance to play much more minutes
