For a real go at the championship this season a try of:

GS - Trades Baron, Murphy, Dunleavy, Pietrus, O'bryant and future 1st rounder (three years from now or more not before)

TWolves - KG, Foye and Mark Blount

Probably a stiff bet!

Throw in Ricky Davis and we send Zarko or Taft and another future 1st rounder!

I've had a few beers here at work and I WANT GARNETT!!!!!

So that pretty much says trade all the starting five away except Jrich, trade 2 or 3 bench players away and give away future 1st late round draft picks? Hmm...

We're talking about KG, migya, not a scrub on another roster. Those players don't get traded unless they force the issue. In that case, your trade could work, but that's the only case.

(Unless McHale is much dumber than we all know he is)

I've outlined before why KG should be traded by McHale - He will not want to stay because he wants to win and these are good players they are getting back for him. Maybe Mullin wouldn't do this because there is alot of good players being traded and only KG and possibly Foye (if he turns out good) and Ricky Davis (if he is also added).

Just a provoking trade

McHale might just do this and then get runout of the state of Minnesota

KG wants to stay because Minny will always be reliable to give him that fat check of 20 million a year.

To be honest, I wouldn't do this trade because I like the tm as it is and want to see these young guys grwo for another three years before saying it isn't good

Think the guy has enough money and winning is more important to him right now! He has got a truck load already and knows he will get a fair bit anywhere else as well

Good point but you don't know how greedy people are! An extra 2-3 mil is a BIG difference!

Prestige is sometimes more important, especially when you are already rich but haven't reach a certain level of prestige, like winning a championship! That would be weighing on Garnett's mind

I thought so. It seemed too much anyway. We have enough talent to get us somewhere in the playoffs.

He would get his money anyway. The contracts are guaranteed, and once it has expired, the new one will be renegotiated over a % of the previous...

Frankly, we'd never get KG. It would take too much to swing a trade for him unless he wanted out. And to get Randy foye, Mark blount and ricky davis too would be proposterous. The only thing that might work (that wouldn't totally destroy our team and would work under the cap) would be Baron, Ike, MP, Devin Brown for KG alone. That would leave us with a lineup like

Monta - Wagner
Jrich - monta - wagner
some dude we trade murph for - Dunleavy
KG - somebody we trade murph for
fourteen million shitty centers

That looks better than what we have now. Not on paper maybe, but we all know that KG + some semblance of a star + sissy small forward + bust center = contender

Good point but KG will want out after this season, you'll see! He won't take anymore fruitless seasons! McHale will swing a trade that gets him the most talent

You said this at the beginning of last season. You said Garnett would be in a different jersey by the start of this season.

All logic pointed to that being the case! The guy must be frustrated to be on a team that is now not even making the playoffs! He will want out but the Warriors will have to win a fair bit and look like a potential champion team for KG to want to come here. The team does have alot of young talent and that is more than most teams have to bargain with!
