You're right... he's probably already getting a head start on the Stanford forums, where they're no doubt dreading the possibility of a Monty-return.

Yes, he had a hard time getting to that championship game yet alone getting passed the sweet 16 but he was building a legacy at Stanford. He kept having winning records and winning seasons. He hurt that legacy by making that big jump to an NBA team who hasn't made the playoffs for 12 years at the time and never improving the team after he posted up the same records to for the 2 seasons he stayed. There are college coaches who should stay college coaches and Monty is one of them.

He was a good college coach (not great).

I know. He didn't pass the sweet 16 once I believe. But he did do a good job coaching the Cardinals.

yeah, but I'd rather have wins than laughs from a team that's had far more of the latter than the former over the last twelve years

I agree. I was referring to "thinkingwarriors", not Monty.

As long as I die the same day I'll be fine with the return of Monty since in heaven, the Warriors will always make the playoffs and win championships.
