I like it, and it shouldn't take much work.. but Hobbes has the last word.

And I wouldn't care much about the spammers... they won't last long if that's the only thing they do.

200-499 = Rising Star (Monta Ellis)
Less than 200 = Prospect (Ike Diogu)

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

We all like Monta... but Ike is just as big of a rising star (if not more). Don't forget whose gonna start next year.

Firstly, Monta finished stronger last season and someone that didn't know much about the Warriors but just saw the games would say that Monta is the rising star and Diogu is still just a prospect but I agree with you that both are rising stars.

Secondly, I'm not so sure Diogu will start! Nelson might think that he is too much of a half court player and that Murphy is better at PF with that outside shot of his. I don't think that should be what happens but it is likely with Nelson to put Murphy at PF and either Foyle (unlikely but to start the season you never know) or Biedrins (he can run, rebound and block shots pretty well) at Center. Again, not the best lineup but likely

Sure, it's easier to root for the smaller guys (because they're flashier), but don't discount the production of a post-player just because it's not as razzle-dazzle.

Ike Diogu (14.9 MPG):

7.0 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 0.4 APG, 0.4 BPG, 0.2 SPG
Shooting 52.4% from the field, 81.0% from the line, and never took a 3-pointer

Monta Ellis (18.1 MPG):

6.8 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.2 BPG, 0.7 SPG
Shooting 41.5% from the field, 71.2% from the line, and 34.2% for 3

Ike Diogu produced more in less minutes than Monta Ellis. He's just as good (if not better)... but his style of play isn't as flashy or eye-catching.

I don't know where you're getting those stats but I remember Diogu has taken a 3pointer, clearly.

No, he was fouled on the play (so he got 3 free-throws instead).

The stat's are from Yahoo's career stats for both players. You're welcome to check them for confirmation here:

Oh yeah, I remember that. Was that the Mavs game? It was late in the season.

Yep... April 12th against the Mavericks

Ike played 23 minutes... and got 22 points (5/7 FG), 9 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, and went 12/13 from the free throw line (his only miss on that possible 3-point play during the 4th quarter) in a 114-102 whopping on Dallas.

God, I can't wait until he's starting!

Very good stats for Diogu, the man looks like he does alot with little, he should be very effective in 30mins or so.

Thought Monta got less minutes than what he averaged. He looks like the sort that would have scored more in the time he was given

Monta scores in bunches. That's something Ike doesn't do. Ike goes with his minutes. With Monta, it really depends on if he's on or off.

Take these games, for example:

April 17th... In 27 minutes against the Blazers, Monta scored only 8 points.

April 2nd... In only 17 minutes, Monta contributed 10 points.

See what I mean? In 10 more minutes, he scored 2 less points...? Minutes aren't all that matters; Monta needs to be feeling it to be effective.

Woohoo bench warmer! I feel degraded now because this describes a guy on my team who picks his nose repeatedly and warms the bench during our games. Oh well, nice, seems pretty cool.

the titles are definitely up for debate

0-99 - rookie
100-499 - bench warmer
500-999 - role player
1000-4999 - starting lineup
5000-9999 - all star
10000+ - hall of famer

How about (if people don't like 'bench warmer), we could change it to this:

0-99 - undrafted
100-499 - rookie
ect

The rest stay the same... but this way, people who are usual posters don't feel so neglected. It was my bad for proposing that initial title. I think "undrafted" and "rookie" are both less offensive.

Thoughts?
