Don't flame on me here but I was wondering why this trade would net be good for us.
We give up Baron Davis & Mike Jr. for Brand and Mobley.
Mike with his dad and Baron back in SoCal...
Mobley to back up J-Rich and Brand to start with Ike.

PG - Ellis
SG - J-Rich
SF - Diogu
PF - Brand
C - O'Bryant

I kinda like this cuz Davis is injury prone and Junior is a bust IMO.
Mobley would be great to come off the bench (especially if Pietrus leaves) and Brand is a beast. He shows up EVERY game.
Is this crazy?

The Clippers will never do this! Their MVP player and another good player for a bust and an injury-prone star PG? Where would Cassell go? Their frontcourt?

It would not be good for us mainly because Ike will NOT start at SF. That would be a defensive nightmare. Since he can't play SF, he'll backup at PF, and I think he is ready to start. I'd rather not break up the Baron-JRich duo for a PF who would also throw a roadblock in front of Ike. Ellis is not a PG either, and who would start, not even mentioning the back up?

Crazy to think the Clips would do this!

Brand just had his best season and Baron one of his worst! dun is not as good as Mobley either.

A proper looking trade (Clips would never give up Brand anyway) would be - Baron, dun, Pietrus, Diogu and Murphy for Cassell, Brand and one of either Mobley, Maggette or some scrub off the bench. That's if the Clippers management thinks that Baron is better than Cassell which could be unlikely. You have to seel that Diogu is Brand like and Murphy would give depth at both PF and Center or even be the starting Center. Dun is MAYBE seen as alright, especially with daddy as coach and Pietrus is seen as potentially great.

Really is unlikely that any trade can be done for the Clippers good players

I was under the impression that he was not returning to the Clips...

Well, realistically we are not going to get Brand for anyone (even Richardson, probably).

yea we will never get brand, no gm would be crazy enough to give up an MVP type player for an injury prone PG and the coachs son. we probably have a shot at maggette but if he and baron both get hurt, its another playoffless season. kaman i would like to have but i dont see him going anywhere.

sorry man no chance this trade does through.....I really think that dun dun and pietrus for Magette would be a SPECTACULAR TRADE and if we can pull off getting Magette without trading Biedrins I would be extatic

Elton Brand is not available. And, even if he were, the Clippers would want Diogu in return for him. They wouldn't exit the trade without getting a PF in return. Besides, Diogu can't play SF. Even though he's 6'8", he plays a big man game. That's why they tried him at center for 7 games last year. More realistically (for both sides), the trade would become:

Brand and someone with a bad, long contract
for
Davis, Dunleavy, Diogu, and cash

I'm not in a hurry to pull the trigger on that one. Diogu may very well become Brand someday... and we'd be losing Davis as well. Getting Mike and Baron's contracts off the board seems appealing... but there's no way we'd get an expirer for them (more likely, we'd get a bad contract in return). Brand isn't available for what we'd be willing to give up.

I think he's available... for Wade or Lebron. I can't think of another player (or package) in the league that could entice the Clips to trade him.
