John Patrick wrote:Yeah but are there more offensively good SF or SG...??!? and also sliding JRich to SF shouldn't be a problem migya if Monta is SG since we would have maybe Monta guard the better player (I think Monta's a great defender) and also Pietrus.

It is definately a viable idea but will have to be tested in spurts to see what it can do. I wouldn't want JRich to get worn down, if in fact he would at SF, so it might not be such a good plan

Well think about this... it gets Dunleavy out of the lineup...

I'm not in a hurry to play JRich out of position 20 minutes a night (in fact, I hope it's only for 10-12)... but I'm all for getting Monta more minutes.

John Patrick's right about the whole defense jumble, though. It probably doesn't make a difference if Richardson guards the SG or SF. The real key is how the lineup gells together. I, for one, thought Monta and Ike played especially good together... and if you insert that tandem with the chemisty between Baron and Jason, it's magic in the making. Davis can probably find a way to integrate Monta & Ike's chemistry into his and Jason's. Having 4 guys on the same page would be ideal (look at Detroit... only guy on offense they didn't integrate was Ben Wallace).

Baron+JRich and Monta+Diogu sounds like a deadly combo. Plus Biedins/O'Bryant get rebounds and help down low? Sounds more than good enough, we just need Murphy outta there.

You're right about that being a deadly combination! They just have to play like the Suns do!

I'd rather get a real SF and trade Baron (if Monta pans out) or keep him and play Monta from the bench. It could work for this season, but I can't see it long term

That's why we're trying it out this season... to see if Monta can sink or swim with more time. We don't want to ship out Baron, put all our eggs in Ellis' basket, and have him pull a Mickael Pietrus on us...

Exactly. Then we'd have to pull a Mike Dunleavy and start a crap PG.

Ugh... I'd say that's more like an Adonal Foyle. It wouldn't be a Mike Dunleavy unless Monta totally flopped... and THEN got resigned. Foyle's potential seemed to dry up after his contract extention... whereas Dunleavy's went down long before his.
