I agree about Smith -esp. w/harrington gone. Odom would be cool to have for sure, but if he leaves LA has no one who can (or in Kobe's case) will pass the ball....

LA put Odom on the block as soon as the season ended.
Phil Jackson likes Lamar Odom... but as far as everyone in the LA office, he's not getting a lotta love. That's the perfect situation for the team who get's him because the coach is the only guy who actually realizes how valueable he is... so we'll most likely get a good deal for him.
Dunleavy & Murphy in a pack (not counting fillers or picks) would probably be enough for someone in upper management to pull the trigger down south. The deal gives them youth, 2 starters, and outside shooters to compliment Bryant on the drive. Plus, with all those bricks Kobe is bound to toss up, having a Top 5 offensive boardsman like Murphy is something LA probably salavates over.

The Lakers will probably ask for Diogu or Monta Ellis though...

They have also added Radmanovic to play SF... it could be possible, pending on what players LA asks for.

But, ultimately, they'll end up with Murphy and someone else (not Richardson, Davis, Diogu, or Ellis). The Warriors are in a good spot to get Odom.

I don't think Odom is that tradeable right now. He did great last season and the Lakers could get more for him

Yes, but the only person on the Lakers who realizes this is Phil Jackson... and the organization's shown him that his opinion will be disregarded involving off-court decisions. The front management want Odom traded.

Yeah, and they've been having problems at the 4, so --> Murphy! and Pietrus, and 1st round pick to sweeten sounds good enough.

I bet LA would bite for Murphy, Dunleavy, and a future 2nd-rounder. Mike D might be more appealing than Pietrus to them, at the moment.

Yeah but one thing to ntoe is Pietrus is expirer and the Lakers might not want to take on those two big contracts (Murph and Dunleavy)!

True, but So*Cal still believes in Mike Dunleavy, so they may not see it as horribly as we do...
Pietrus is almost sure to bolt... and his contract off the books won't give them much relief. They'll end up with an extra million to spend... and Troy Murphy.

They would need to thrown a ton of contracts our way. Also, I don't think Phil Jackson would go for that trade. And I'm pretty sure he has more power on the team than their GM.

I agree, he'd hate the trade idea... but the Lakers have shown Phil that they care nothing for his thoughts, off the bench. He's their coach... and they want it to stay that way. LA is content on NOT becoming like Chicago, where Jackson ran the whole show and blew it all up when they fired him.
