Golden State Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Zarko Cabarkapa
6-11 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
3.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 8.4 minutes
Derek Fisher
6-1 PG from Arkansas-Little Rock
13.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.3 apg in 31.6 minutes
Incoming
Corey Maggette
6-6 SG from Duke
17.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 29.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: +1.2 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and -2.5 apg.

LA would have a Cassell/Mobley/Livingston/Fish rotation, and we'd get a true complimentary 15-20 points scorer... He gets to the line. He's a better Dukie.

i doubt the clips would accept that trade. i'd add pietrus if the warriors were to only go after maggette this offseason with trades.

I'd try not to. I must admit, mostly wishful thinking.. Zarko could be a very cheap alternative to the Radman, and Fish solidifies their 1-2 positions.---***030***---

Not a chance the Clips go for that trade. Fish would be their third pg on the depth chart, and everybody knows Zarko sucks, except some delusional fans.

Why would we attempt this trade in the first place...?

The best thing Fisher gave us this past season was durablility and reliablility... two things that Magette certainly isn't famous for. I admit, he's a better talent when healthy, but we already have one injury prone superstar. Why pay the contract of another?

True that Maggette is injured often and he is also not a defensive dynamo either. I'd really love to get Josh Smith and throw the draft pick, Murphy and a player like Fisher to get him

That's impossible, contract-wise. Atlanta would double their salary and we'd drop Murphy & Fisher's contracts for (basically) nothing in Smith's rookie contract.

Check my Josh Smith trade in this section.

That could have been possible last year, before Atlanta signed JJ, when they had the cap room to do it. Now salaries don't work.

Yea, the contracts don't work but I mean talentwise, the Hawks would not be getting garbage and would be geting players that fill positions that are weak for them right now (if Harrington leaves)

Cory averages about 7.7 mill over the next 3 seasons. He earns his money and would be a great addition. Why give up Fish? Cuz he's really not that important with BD on board for the whole season. I like him, but I'd plug our SF problems before I look @ the guard positions.---***030***---

... and what makes you think that Baron Davis (the most injury prone player on the roster) will be on the board the whole season...? Aren't you kinda putting all your eggs in one basket?

Nah... Whatever which way you spin it, Fisher shouldn't be in any long term plan. I'd rather live with Ellis/BD/ & whoever if we can add CM to the mix. Shiet... might as well trade down and grab Williams (Uconn). @ SF CM/DUN/MP & J23 will suffice, totally---***030***---

Well, still, that leaves us with only Baron and Monta... so what are we gonna do when Baron goes down holding his knee? Play Dunleavy at point when Monta's resting? I'm pretty sure we're not gonna resign Will Bynum, so we'll need Fisher. 2 point guards only works if they're both not prone to injury. Baron Davis isn't a guarentee. For that reason, we need 3.

That won't be an issue. Aquiring a 3rd string PG isn't a problem, rather getting one cheap that could really help is a hard task. If not Bynum then someone else would do + ya know Dun's gonna handle the ball too. I did mention trading down ( dump AF?) & picking up M. Williams in the draft thus giving us 3 PG's. That would do + we'd be 3 deep@every position---***030***---
