Rusty Simmons @Rusty_SFChron
Stephen Curry's surgically repaired right ankle rolled under him during a scramble for a loose ball in POR. He just ran to the locker room.

Not sure the severity, but it's the same ankle he keeps hurting (and the one he had to have surgery on last season).

I noticed him back on the bench talking with Jackson after he went to the locker room. He was asking Jackson to come back into the game and Jackson told him no.

I didn't see him on the bench at the start of the 2nd half, though. Even if it doesn't sound bad or serious, given Curry's history any minor limp will be a huge concern for the Warriors.

Yeah I was at this game it didn't look too bad im sure he would have returned if it was a regular season game, but it's pretty concerning especially only a few games into his return. Looks like whatever shoes he was planning on wearing this year aren't doing much

It's so disheartening that that skippy hobble of his is so recognizable...

I literally feel like I've seen him do that same dance to the bench more than I've seen him rebound.

It seems Steph Curry is a bench player to me to be an effective player. Plays 20-25 min and his main goal is to score, because you can't count on him to stay healthy if the team going to push him heavy work load on him consistently because of his ankles. Just imagine if he has to play defense to guard the top PG in the league they will try to break his ankle or make him put a lot of pressure on his ankles.

Guys im perplexed. Why does he keep reinjuring? This is year 3 of the ankles of curry. Wasn't his rehab designed to strengthen his ankles? What's causing him to roll it? Someone explain. I just don't get it. Last year he got hurt against Sacramento preseason. So how is this any different?

That wasn't his fault. He will be fine to go start the season.

Being a bench player won't help because his ankle is fine or it's not. That won't change with a lot less playing time. Secondly, he is too good to start off the bench. He's efficient.

It has to do with how he plants his foot.

Curry moves like a prize-fighter, meaning he's constantly on his toes. But the problem is: Curry plants on his heels when he stops. That might be okay if he had tree trunk legs capable of combating opposing feet, but he doesn't. He has legs like a giraffe. As such, Curry is constantly at risk to roll his ankle whenever his legs get tied up.

Plants on his heels, moves on his toes, has no calf strength. That, in a nut shell, is why he keeps hurting himself.

Curry will at least play the opener for the regular season.

He's sitting out the rest of the pre-season.

Agreed.

He performed when called upon, it's not as though he needs the practice. And clearly, his ankle is going to be a sore subject, so the less needless play Curry engages in, the better.

Wasn't currys program designed to strengthen currys ankle? Plus wasn't he doing drills that forced him to position foot differently? What's he supposed to do?

We'll see how it goes, but definately not a good sign of issues already with that ankle.
