why dont we try to get robin lopez?? i woulnt mind gamble on him if cheap... he didnt get enough playing time in phoenix, but when he did hes not bad

RLopez hsn't shown any improvement from his rookie season and he is really nothing more than an energy player. I'd much rather prefer Chris Anderson or KMart, but if they can't be had I'd take RLopez, as long as he takes 1-1.5 million only.

Agree, migs.
Robin Lopez shows me nothing. I'm not saying he brings nothing to the table, but I'd rather see Ezeli play 30 minutes of backup 4-5 than give Lopez any potential tick that could go to Lee, Ezeli, Bogut, or Green. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

That's it. I want a backup big that is better than both Ezeli and Tyler, for security reasons while the two young bigs improve, but I don't want a player getting their way that's really no better than they are. ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Well, Robin Lopez got traded to New Orleans, so no need to discuss that option any more. The traded sent Hakim Warrick along with Lopez to the Hornets, Timberwolves sent Wesley Johnson and a future pick to the Suns, while Wolves got three second round picks if I remembered it correctly.

Just signed Draymond Green. Marcus Thompson II says we're very close to signing Rush and Landry. If all this is true then that brings our roster count up to 15 and the likelihood of us re-signing McGuire is gone. I understand that Bazemore was impressive during summer league, but I would've much prefer us keeping McGuire than taking a flyer on a summer league standout.

Carl Landry signed with warriors. 2 years 8 million dollar contract. Landry has a player option for 2nd year.

I know some are not excited about Carl Landry, but just be glad that Tyler isn't the first player to come off the bench for Lee. That's a big a difference.

Thought he was going to get less, but glad he inked the deal, 2 year deal means flexibility for the future as well. Welcome aboard Landry.
Looking at the team overall now that Landry has signed and hopefully Rush in the near future, other than Bogut am not sure where toughness is going to come from. But to reality is this, maybe we make too much of that word, the Mavs won the Finals not too long ago with Chandler anchoring the defense, hopefully that is the case with Bogut. |

Mark Jackson tweets a "welcome back" to Brandon Rush. Brandon Rush responds with a thank you. Seems like Rush is re-signed.

It looks like Nate is more than likely being signed by Chicago..according to RealGM.

Oh yes..and Brandon Rush is back with the team. It's looking more and more less likely that we'll resign McGuire...

With the addition of Landry, it seems our window-shopping is over. And what a squad indeed... It's incredible the difference a year makes:
Warriors Opening Night Roster 2012-'13 PG: Stephen Curry / Jarrett Jack / Charles Jenkins SG: Klay Thompson / Brandon Rush / Kent Bazemore SF: Harrison Barnes / Dramond Green / Richard Jefferson PF : David Lee / Carl Landry / Jeremy Tyler C : Andrew Bogut / Festus Ezeli / Andris Biedrins Warriors 2011-'12 Opening Night Roster PG: Stephen Curry / Ish Smith / Charles Jenkins SG: Monta Ellis / Klay Thompson / Brandon Rush SF: Dorell Wright / Dominic McGuire / Chris Wright PF: David Lee / Epke Udoh / C: Andris Biedrins / Kwame Brown / Jeremy Tyler +'s include: starting SF, starting C, backup 1, backup 4, and backup 5. -'s are: starting SG (for now), defensive specialist (McGuire > Bazemore), aaaaand... That's about it. Wow. What an incredible improvement. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

Yep what a difference. On paper, much improved, quality at every position, less weaknesses.
I'd even say Curry > injured Curry last season Klay > Monta (ya I said it!) Monta can score, Klay can score. Klay will do other things to win though Barnes > D Wright ... the bar at SF was not that high last season Lee > Lee ... Bogut's presence will help his D Bogut 10000% >>>>> Biedrins ... when healthy, Bogut may be 2nd best center in the West Wow the stars are actually starting to align for the Warriors - so many things had to go right and they did. Maybe the Cohan-curse is fading... 1. Monta Ellis trade 2. tank - and it actually pays off 3. we win the coin flip w/Raptors 4. Harrison Barnes drops to W's at the 7th spot 5. Ezeli and D. Green drop to W's 6. FA: JJack, Landry, on very reasonable contracts, etc. Hard-pressed to find a better offseason in recent memory. I'm so used to moves like Belinelli for D. George, hey let's give Corey Maggette $10mil / yr, hey whatdya say we draft Patrick O'Bryant, etc. Smart / logicial basketball moves have been such a foreign concept to this franchise. Having a FO with a clue is like seeing the sun in Seattle -- way overdue and fully welcomed! |

Landry can score and he is definately a very good backup PF, but I do think 4 million a year is too much to what the team should have paid. I think any backup big signing had to be under 3 million, but the ownership must be alright with paying the luxury tax so that's on them. Landry is good, though he doesn't help the rebounding and defense. Still good to have a good scoring big coming off the bench.
I still prefered Kenyon Martin. ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |
