The news has come out that the Warriors have traded Dorell Wright to the Sixers (old news), but have acquired Jarrett Jack from the Hornets, who will receive the international player from the Sixers.
This is great news! They get a terrific, defensive minded, back up point guard that could easily start if Curry gets injured. Now they can turn their attention to a back up big or SG.

Great pickup. Okay capologists, how much under luxury tax do we have left. I know we still have full MLE but I think that would put us over now?

Good pickup..but wasn't he injured back in April? He missed the remainder of the season..is he fully recovered? Or it could be another injured player on our roster..

We should still be able to net a McGuire kind of deal, but the MLE is likely too pricey for us now.
I like the addition of Jack. He has a great backup mentality, like Rush. He's typically been a Warrior killer so it's reasonable to expect he'll do well. And he solves our need for an insurance policy on Curry's ankle. Didn't I say they didn't trust Jenkins? ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

He can easily start in place of a possibly (let's hope not) injured Curry.

Ok, it still is not official but if it goes through then it is a great deal.
He will be a really good backup pg, and. can start if curry is injured. As far as salary, he is set to make 5.2 million on the last year of his contract. If Myers was telling the truth that they had $4 million under the luxury before trading Dorell, this would put them $3 million under luxury tax. Don't know if the money in this deal adds up.... Goodbye Rush. Unless another deal happens. I would really try to get Blache (or something like that) from Washington. They don't want him, so i would try to give them Mum-ra the indestructible saving 3 mil in the process.
That would put me in a position to sign Rush or McGuire. Strange things are happening in this free agency. I see teams giving ridicules money to mediocre bench players. Toronto wants Rush and i have them capable of giving a 9 mil offer to him so he would be gone anyway. Plus i read Jack is a combo guard. ![]() Mullin is the Ultimate Warrior |

I am wondering what is next, signing Rush and a back-up PF (JJ Hickson) is key. Not sure how much money is left to go around.
Jack is a solid, power PG, who will bring some toughness at the PG position to give breaks to Curry and insurance if he goes down again. |
Just for reference, this is including Rush's $4 million qualifying offer and rookie contarcts. Meaning we could match up to $6 or $7 million for rush right now before going into the tax. But assuming we want to sign another big, not sure they will match that much. "Hard Work Beats Talent, When Talent Doesn't Work Hard"

How do you compare him to Jamal Crawford? JC didn't really work out too well for the Warriors, despite the fact that he had a 50 point game and a 40 point home opener. However, it's nice having Jack on the dubs, because I always remember him as someone that got his way against us.

Hickson is out of the picture. He's with the Blazers with a one-year deal.

So for reference here is what our team looks like:
PG: Curry - Jack - Jenkins SG: Klay - Rush SF: Barnes - Jefferson - Green PF: Lee - Tyler C : Bogut - Bedrins - Ezeli In the immortal words of Borat, "Very nice!" Last years lineup? Curry - Nate - Jenkins Ellis - Klay Dorell - Rush - C. Wright Lee - McGuire Bedrins - Kwame - Tyler Most of the team was injured too... "Hard Work Beats Talent, When Talent Doesn't Work Hard"

Jack is set to make 5.58 million this coming season, his last under contract. Yes, he is better than what we had previously at backup PG, but that's now less money to spend on someone else. To be honest, I just want to resign McGuire and that's it, roster complete. We'll have to hope that the young backups bigs, Tyler, Green and Ezeli, do well enough. Maybe a real cheap backup big can be signed for about 1-1.5 million, who knows.
