I am posting from phone, I believe Jefferson's deal is next year and a player option for 2013/14?
MT2 saying we would get 1st rounder from SA as well.
Marc Spears reporting it's a done deal. Jackson for Jefferson and conditional 1st.
Jefferson has one more year on his deal (player option) and is clearly on the downside of his career. He is not the cancer Jackson is however. I am apathetic on this one.
Bucher just tweeted R. Jefferson for Stack Jack discussed

Jackson returning to two of his former teams within a couple days lol.
Fuk's sake.
GWallace just got traded to the Nets and yet our fO couldn't get him for something. Camby also got traded for peanuts.
Though we got rid of the cancer that sJack is, could have held him until the offseason, shut the turd down for the remaining six weeks and then he has value as an expirer. Instead, we get a deteriorated player who gets paid a ridiculous amount as much, but for an extra year. Doesn't make sense. The Spurs 1st rounder won't mean much either so really no gain.
Let's hope that DWright and that Spurs pick can be sent in a package somewhere for something of value

LOVE IT
Lemmie get this straight... Joe Lacob took Monta Ellis, Epke Udoh, an expirer, and some money and now we're looking at Andrew Bogut, Richardson Jefferson, an extra 1st rounder (from SAS), and an extra 2nd rounder (from ATL)?
I wanna cry I'm so happy. We are SET to break out next year.

Is it just me or does it seem like Richard Jefferson went into witness protection after those title runs with Jason Kidd and the Nets? Don't know what to think of this trade...not a fan of the extra year on his contract but I guess it gives the team more depth.

They didn't wanna have to explain Jackson to the fans. Theoretically, he could have been inserted into the starting 3 job, but it's a PR nightmare and Jefferson came with a late 1st rounder in a kickass draft.
Jefferson is probably better for our young locker room anyways. I'd be interested in asking him for a buy out so that maybe he can pursue a team that is in deep playoff contention. Maybe the Magics or something. If we do decide to keep him, he should replace Wright right away.

I'm trippin. We need to seriously tank right now because 2 first round picks would be huge for us if we decide to let Rush go or if he doesn't re-sign for cheap. I think Starting and playing Tyler 30 mpg would singlehandedly lose us enough games to net us in the top 7. We'll give Tyler experience + get a pick. It's win-win man, all we have to do is lose.
I think this is a great move. Get rid of the cancer of Jackson, and get a vet with experience who can help mold our young players. He isn't what he used to be, but he does add depth and experience we didn't have. Put it this way Jefferson >> Jackson.
Also, didn't Jefferson and Bogut play togther a couple years ago in Milwuakee? It might help the team chemistry.
so now in the draft we have:
1st rounder from SAS
2nd rounder from Nets
2nd rounder form ATL
and maybe we will get lucky and keep our first rounder.
we have under contract for next year 7 players:
Curry
Klay
Wright / Jefferson
Lee
Bogut / Beans
And 6 Free Agents:
Robinson / Jenkins
Rush
Wright
McGuire
Tyler
So, 13 players... 3 or 4 picks.... someone isn't coming back.

I'm really happy with this deal, can't see any bad side of this. We got ourselves a 1st round pick in a deep draft, and Jefferson >> Jackson, even without the backstabbing part that piece of crap did to us before. Better player and better person (Jefferson, of course).
