Just read that article about him going off on the cops in Atlanta. "Take my car (Lamborgini) I have 12 more" and the ol "I make mo' money than you will in (fill in whatever) years". Yeah, it's all about him and "Don't You Know Who I am?". I used to enjoy watching him, but it became obvious that later on in his career he wasn't a team player. Brilliant stint with Denver--man, that sucked. Oh--this is the NBA Forum, I forgot Allen, you aren't even in the league anymore...

Well, he single-handedly brought his team to the NBA finals back in 2000. He is probably a top 5 ISO basketball player of all time. He is also arguably the best 6 foot and under player the league has ever seen.
However, as you've said, terrible teammate who didn't take advantage of trying to improve role once he could no longer rely on his athleticism and quickness. Iverson, like Steve Francis & Stephan Marbury, solely relied on their initial reputation and didn't care for improving. Once they hit 30 years old, they free falled out of the league. |

Iverson may be what Crackers said, but (and I hadread this more than once pertaining to more than one nba player, athlete, famous people) he has been targeted and abused by police before. I remember reading years ago that his private body guard had said in an interview for a magazine or newspaper that more than one police officer had said racist statements to Iverson in public and Iverson and the body guard, who was also black I take it, were upset and felt violated more than once.
I don't know what this situation was, but it may have been that Iverson got fed up and said things that were metioned out of frustration and to hit back at the police in that form. Things are usually more than what is reported in the media ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Hey migya-I think I was a little harsh on Iverson, it's hard to know how the cops treated him. I'm sure he gets extremely frustrated because of his past scenes with them and I can now understand why he said the things he said.

Yeah WarriorsAlaskaFan, you just never know, but humans make mistakes and I'm sure Iverson may have been somewhat arrogant with one or two copsin his time, with people in general actually. It is natural for people, being imperfect, to make mistakes and I'm not saying all bad for the cop, just that the story usually goes both ways.
Iverson really has fallen in his basketball career that's the thing I see ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |
