ah a vacuum!! that makes sense! well all is working now except the ear speaker (so I have to talk on ear bud or speaker phone), and the screen is slightly streaky when looked at at a certain angle... other than that, it works fine!!

yeah that Evo 4g is the best hardware on the market currently.... problem is that if you buy it your paying for the first phone (in the US) to access 4g broadband speed... and in the SF bay area there is NO 4g reception yet. so you're paying for something you can't use.

If you wait until fall / winter 2010 when 4g is available in the bay, you can get a 4g phone that's most likely better than the EVO 4g @ likely the same price as a current new EVO 4g (they're all around 200 bucks with contract think).

choice is yours, but if you ask me, it makes more sense to hold out a few more months and buy a 4g phone in the fall/winter

COOL, how is it? I am thinking about getting a smart phone soon. Like TMC mentioned before, i have one of those basic flip phones that is about 4 years old.

You know of a website where i can compare all the top smartphones to make a purchasing decision. OR is there going to be a new phone coming that is worth waiting for in the next few months?

lets say i stayed living in 2005  . I still got my flip phone and a 5 year old Ipod.

I don't think I want an iPhone. It looks cool, but i don't want to support the deuche who goes by the name Steve Jobs. Plus I am not a fan of AT&T.

Who makes HTC (or is that the company's name)? Are these the "droid" phones, or is that something else? I just read that Microsoft is making a smartphone. Anyone know if that's gonna be any good?

The evo is amazing, I haven't even used my laptop since I got it. the Eco and Samsung epic are currently the best Android phone on the market, the evo has, a bigger screen, some more features and uses the HTC sense interface, which is cool, and the epic has a slide down keyboard.

I also heard that the epic's touch screen has been going unresponsive and that was pretty much the deciding factor for me.
