It wouldn't work BIGS... Whilst your brilliant UK system might work in the land of rowdy football hooligans and delusional royals... i bet it's more then just simply throwing on a band aid and giving a patient a ibopurfen and sending them on there way (but i got cancer doc)

After spending a bit of time in America (which you will be doing very soon) i noticed that the people like to be thorough and do things right... if this magical medical solution you propose was going to put into place in america then the tax costs and overheads would spiral out of control.

Whilst you talk about how great England is... you blatently ignore other social problems such as homelessness, drug abuse and street crime which your country doesn't appear to be tackling... Sure America has the same problems (&obesity) but on a bigger scale and least it looks like they have had presidents as of late who want to tackle these problems (i dont know enough about Gordon Brown... but he certaintly aint done anything to jump out of the page and make me notice)

to fix any health care problem.... first and formost education is where i'd invest money... TEACH people how to live a healthy life...

hey if you smoke that cigarette you will get lung cancer,
hey if you eat that burger you will get fat
hey if you fvck that pro.. you'll get aids

it can be real simple stuff sometimes, i know my country OZ focuses heavily on community awareness and health bulletins on tv and all these commercials are funded by the big taxes the cigarette, alcahol and fast food companies are getting charged.

ALso Education into Development and Research is a must... rather then give a 100 million dollars are year for people who cant affored kemotherapy.. how about giving a 100 million dollars to developing a cure so people dont lose there hair and die of cancer, just a thought.
But rather adding fuel to the fire (free health handouts) lets go buy a pack of matches, some wood and a fire hydrant and have total control of the fire.

It's impossible to tell. We're in the midst of a depression and our artificially inflated housing market has crashed to the point where even folks who can afford their mortgages are foreclosing anyway because the properties are worth 60-70% of the original loan. Basically, why pay a loan of $650,000 if your new neighbors are paying loans of $375,000?

The state is scrambling to pass budgets much lower than in years passed and everyone wants less spending but no one wants the cuts that make that happen. It's a really horrid situation for California politicians.

Arnold has taken his share of heat, but I don't think the state has turned on him yet. And that's saying something since he's a republican serving in a democrat state.

I read about this earlier today. first its the 1070 bill, then banning ethnic studies, now this blunt racism by "whitening" the mural. They do all this, and for every action they take they reply "no, we are not racist". Poor Arizona's who do not believe in any of this crap and have to live with it.

They can always move out of Az. That's what I'd do, at least. Relocate somewhere else where there's more... not-so-common sense.

Of course, not everybody will be able to afford the relocation, so...

Australia will be going to the polls this Saturday to hopefully elect a new government. The events that transpired for this election were quite amazing, approx 6 weeks ago there was a COO with the socialist Government where the deputy prime minister replaced the PM due to a lack of support in the opinion polls.

This has led to all socialist voters being disgusted at the current government actions and voters being forced to voting for 'The Greens' cause they can't bring themselves to voting for the Opposition which is a conservative Govt,

my Question is- Does America have a Greens Party. A party that supports the Enviroment? Me personally as a Conservative voter, i'm worried about what a Government who's focus is on the enviroment and what kind of detremental affect that would have on making the economy a 2nd priority.

There will be no signifigant action on climate change until the big polluters act on it. I.E Usa. China and India

We have a Green Pary (called just that... the Green Party), but they are very weak. Though, they probably were the reason why Al Gore lost the 2000 Presidential Election as they stole votes from him.

But America currently have 2 main parties. Both are relatively in the middle. Democrats are more liberal, while Republicans are more conservative. However, there is a new movement (called the Tea Party) that is occuring in the U.S. that is very conservative and picking up popularity. There main issue is supposedly focused on fixing the economy (though they keep getting stuck with petty issues that lead them to look incredibly racist).

[because they are. when you are "very" or "incredibly" or "extremely" conservative ... that means 75% chance you're racist. After all, it's about conserving old values. racial tension got solved [somewhat] about 50 years ago... pretty recent.

and all these parties and what not are TO BLIND THE AMERICAN PUBLIC from the real parties ... the CLASS PARTIES. THE RICH VS THE MIDDLE CLASS VS THE BROKE MOTHAFKAS. and the rich use politics and political parties to distract the others from what they're really doing ... keeping the money in their pockets.

Educate me. You might not like the way I delivered the message, but it's extremely correct. You'd be a fool to think every decision our government makes doesn't come full circle back to MONEY.

Here is a voting tip... don't vote for the extreme tea party candidates for Senate... to trust these idiots to the senate for SIX YEAR TERMs when most, if not all, have little or no political experience is nuts.

Notables:
Sharron Angle who is anti-latino (amongst many other things) as she attempted to censor spanish media of ANY kind during her campaign (eventually, her campaign realized how racist and stupid she looked), Carly Fiorini (who in Spanish Radio is indirectly trying to get latinos to go after other minorities... in addition, she made HP into a shitty computer company AND she outsourced jobs away from the USA), Christine O'Donnel who use to do witchcraft and cannot make up her mind on who she actually is (though to be fair, she seems like the most normal one in the bunch), and Rand Paul (who is more extreme than his father Ron Paul, the man I voted for President in 08).

I personally will be voting for both liberals and conservatives in the California and Federal levels, as I choose the best candidate for me, and not the party they are affiliated with. But this "Tea Party" for the most part is just too ignorant and hypocritical on America's problems and poorly blame the wrong people for America's failures.
