Carmelo vs Durant. I'm pretty sure you can narrow down the best SF's in the West between those two. Unless you guys can think of someone else, which I doubt. Yes, ESPN inspired me to do this.
Who would you rather have? Why?

Durant for sure. Particularly looking at the big picture.
You could make the argument that Anthony is currently a better player, but I would argue that Melo has more or less peaked as an NBA player. On the other hand, Durant is four years younger than Melo, and has a lot of room to grow and mature even further as a player. Apart from scoring, Durant is a better rebounder (and I think 3-point shooter), while Melo is the better passer. Once Durant cuts down the turnovers and learns how to dish the ball a bit more, he'll be scary good. Durant will eventually lead the league in scoring for years to come. He will win more MVPs than Melo, and win more championship rings. You can tell he's special. Compare his numbers with Melo when they were the same age... Again, Melo might be the better player now, but to answer who would I rather have, it's Durant, hands down. |

Like aussie said, Durant. That guy looks like he will challenge Lebron for best player for many years

Durant...
He definately has better leadership skills at this age... Carmelo is surrounded by some of the best players in the world and a HALL OF FAME headed coach.. Kevin Durant, well is on a pretty average team (with some great role players, but no other stars like Kenyon Martin or Chauncey Billups! Durant is just the Shiznit!!! but from a purely geographic standpoint.. i dont even call Oklahoma City the west... Ir New Orleans can play in OKC after Hurricane Katrina and compete in the EAST Division & then Seatlle move our EAST to OKLAHOMA.. then it just goes to show you the NBA needs to re-do it's boundaries. |

Durant, someone that tall shouldn't be that skilled, the Thunder are scary this year, but the future, man.

Right now is debatable, but man... the future is all Durant's (in this debate, because with Lebron around he's not gonna have an easy time being the league's best player)

I would pick Durant over Anthony even though i think anthony is really good too.
Durant is awesome and hes not on as good of a team that melo is on. Overall durant is the better player |

Durant can do everything Carmelo does, plus he's taller .. better rebounder .. better shooter .. more consistent... and only 21 years old to Carmelo's 26.
Obvious choice here. |

Durant, but after AR gets a full healthy year under his belt at SF I'll take him as the best defender at that position

Right now, I have to choose Carmelo. Maybe next year or two years from now, I might say Kevin. As of right now, if they played each other I think Carmelo does whatever he wants with Kevin offensively and defensively.

Melo, he actually uses his height to post up and score in the low post...
