well from that period.. I can recommend some of the greats: Coltrane, Bill Evans, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, Lee Morgan, Hampton Hawes, Cannonball Adderly, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock (both his 60's jazz stuff and Headhunters funk stuff)

check out some Andrew Hill, Joe Henderson, Larry Young, and Woody Shaw for some great 60's jazz

Eric Dolphy and Ornette Coleman if you want to take it even further 'out'.

1. Immortalized - Many Spice fans will disagree with this being at no. 1, but it is an amazing album with superior production, good features and there isn't a single track you'll want to skip...

2. The Black Bossalini - Many Spice fans will say this should be no. 1

3. AmeriKKKa's Nightmare - One of hs more popular Albums...
