LANE KIFFIN.

I didn't know he was a possible candidate. I wonder if Monty is coming along with him, too.

" I can't wait until we beat Florida. We will be singing Rocky Top all night long".... so much for that quote. HAHA. I despise Lane, i think he is a pompous jerk.

And to answer your question, yes, his dad (and others) will be joining him to USC.

yeah, he really seems like a douche doesnt he.

How does a guy with the track record (or lack thereof) of Lane Kiffin continue to get good jobs? Pat Forde said it best "This guy was born on 3rd base and acts like he hit a triple". The Vols are boned on this one. They had one of the top recruiting classes in the nation and the head recruiter is also leaving with Lane and has made lots of calls letting his guys know to not attend any classes or they will lose the ability to follow the regime to Hollywood.

What do you guys think about that 13 year old QB verbally committing to USC?

I think it is pretty rediculous. The pressure now on that poor kid is crazy. Calling him the best young phenom since Tiger Woods? Jesus!

He does look impressive for a 13 year old in the video I saw but the guy has not even played anything outside of Pop Warner football.

13!!!! Lol
where did you get that from the Onion?
Even Todd Marinivich was older when he was
scouted by USC
As I booked into a hotel, I said to the receptionist, I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled.

from ESPN and I saw it on all other sports sites as well. In the article there is a link to a video. Admittedly the kids looks beyond a 13 year old but that is rediciulous.

I heard he gets NFL coaches tape and spends hours a day breaking down NFL defenses. LET THE KID BE A KID!!!!

Pretty sad but that is what sports has come to now, the kid will get all types of training to excel the sport.

The question I pose is if your kid has talent in a sport how much do you push him to excel and become a possible star ? I mean many parents push there kids to be educated, why not push for both education and sports.

Thank for the link, Bada.
Sounds like Kiffin is being an attention whore again.

In the 80s HBO did a documentary on super kid Todd Marinivich
when he was that age. As we all know he turned up all fuked up.
I could be wrong about the hbo dates, it was so long ago.

So how do you guys feel about what is looking like the change to these "Mega Conferences"?

Pac-10 appears it will be the Pac-16 with Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, etc joining the conference.

While I love tradition, I am actually very excited for this. I think the fans win here... especially the Pac-10. Unlike other conferences, we have a lot of Pac-10 teams that are in MAJOR cities where you are competing against pro sports. Compelling matchups are a must in these cities... USC v Texas, UCLA v Oklahoma etc is exciting to me.

I am curious however to see what happens to Kansas... not so much as a football program, but their hoops program... Would be weird to see Kansas hoops playing in the Mountain West or some crap like that.

I'm excited about this also. The Pac-whatever is going to be a great powerhouse conference with a ton of excellent matchups. I'm looking forward to an Oregon/Oklahoma rivalry. Oklahoma hates Oregon so that should be fun :)

So which programs are the ones to watch this season?

I don't know about you, But i'm finally looking forward to watching USC again... Why? Cause Lane Kiffin is a LAME DUCK in a LAME PROGRAM! Nothing brings me more satisfaction then seeing this guy suffer. (feel sorry for his recruits though)

Alabama lost they're PILLAR MLB to the Raiders in Rolando McClain.

The Franchise i'll really be taking a look at is OLE'MISS they got former Oregon QB Jeramaih Masoli... I think this guy is a great talent, just caught up on the wrongside of the law,

What the hell up with the college Boise State- is Boise a city in America? Cause i looked at the atlas a few times and i don't remember no state Called Boise- where's it near? Sounds like a city in New Mexico. They got the bluefield correct? Or hang on there's a college called Fresno State n i know Fresno is a city on a drive east from The Bay Area.

Don't know about Utah, i know they usually have some pretty strong football teams. Alex Smith came from there- which player n position should i keep my eye on? Or is it just a case of no superstars but 11 great players on the field at one time?

The franchise quarterbacks i been told to keep a eye on are all west coast kids. Dude from Stanford and i think name is jake Locker from Washington.

Seen my raiders are forfeiting there 1st round pick next year to New England as part of the Richard Seymour trade. I've decided to try n follow College football a little more closely. I'm use to watching games & hearing about a safety who runs this fast n knowing his on Al's radar. But i'm gonna have to keep my eyes peeled on the deeper ends of college football so i can start froffing over my next silver n black wetdream.

Yeah, I root for Stanford cuz i lived by their campus for 14 years, and I root for San Diego State and Sacramento State (the two schools I attended).

Stanford QB Luck looks really good. I loved watching him last year, and was pretty stoked to see what he can do this year with a more mature O-line, WR's and him... its gonna be a newer RB core, but they were very good prospects, so i am hoping they can step right in immediately. I'm expecting a trip to the Rose Bowl this year.

Am looking forward to this college football season, Jack Locke is going into the season as the top draft pick, but Andrew Luck is right behind him crazy thing. The coach out there at Standford Jim Jim Harbaugh is creating something nice over there. Don't seeing Luck staying another year. Pac 10 will be a power house in coming years, great young coaches out West.
