Migya, I wish you were right.

But perhaps (and only pehaps) you are looking at this differently than Bada and TMC. It's not that any of you necessarily value any of the prospective trade chips differently - for the sake of argument, lets say that each of you think that Monta, Curry, the pick, Chris Paul, and the rest of our guys contribute exactly the same value to their team. You agree on all their attributes, skills, limitations, flaws, upsides, character, etc.

The added variable that TMC and Bada are putting into any trade equation is this: the Warriors horrible reputation throughout the Association - both among the GMs, the players, and the media. To make a Bigtime move, we have to overpay (and so Bada/TMC ask, 'is it worth it?'. Migya, I think you look at it as though its just a talent for talent equation - which is an exericse more theoretical than realistic.

What I want to add to the conversation is this: if we want to make a Bigtime move, and we recognize we have to overpay - then lets make damn sure that this is the one and only time we do have to overpay. As I wrote in the trades section - you overpay for Chris Paul (in talent/potential), but then you don't have to overpay the next time, cause Paul = instant credibility. (eg, we overpaid for Maggs cause we had to if we wanted him to come here, but, in overpaying for Maggs, we reinforced our reputation rather than changed/improved it)

[mods - if you want to move this to the CP3 trades section, cool with me]
I Believe - that Curry and Monta are gonna have a lot of fun playing together for many years to come.
I Believe - we will be the most improved team in the league next year.

Oh, it is. Believe me, it is, except, maybe, from a fantasy point of view. You'd be trading a scorer and a role player for a top 5 player in the NBA. Think about that and tell me if it'd be a fair trade.

From a talent point of view it wouldn't be, from a making a team better point of view, it wouldn't be. Monta has alot of talent, that's why he's doing what he's doing and Morrow is a specialist at least, young and could get a bit better, but he is very good at outside shooting.

We can look at it also that we don't like the players that come to this team, mostly because the team doesn't win much, but so far, Crawford and SJack have gone to teams and those teams are winning much more, with them being a major reason why. What it is is that the Warriors don't have the right environment and group of players to make it work

You see, if you go back one year, this trade is not possible, as Paul was the darling, never having said anything negative, player for the Hornets. This past offseason, he spoke his mind, though not harshly, and said he was not happy about the level of talent on his team and that the FO there had to do more to help him be on a winner. New Orleans is a low seed for the playoffs right now and with Paul injured for almost two months, they won't make it. It has to be sold to them that getting Monta and another player, like either Morrow or Azu, will allow them to make the playoffs.

I'd offer Monta and either Morrow or Azu for Paul and if New Orleans didn't take it, I'd add BW and a future 1st rounder, not this upcoming draft's lottery pick, but one in two or three years. That could be too inticing for New Orleans to pass up
