OK in my quest to come up with an answer to the Warrior's lack of beef problem I give you this (NBA Trade Machine Approved)...
1) Warriors Trade: Monta Ellis for Al Jefferson
2) Warriors Trade: AR + Rad for Gortat + Bass
Here's the Bleacher Report (blog) talking about how Gortat and Bass both have been upset about not getting enough playing time with the Magic and speculating that AR would be a great fit for Orlando....
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3102 ... y-randolph
PG - Curry/CJ
SG - Azubuike/Turner
SF - Mags/Morrow
PF - A. Jefferson/Turiaf
C - Gortat/Biedrins
Discuss any moves or trades here, real, rumored, made up, you name it!
I'm going to have to disagree with you on a few points xbay...
The T-Wolves don't have anyone in Monta's class except for Al Jefferson and perhaps Love. They want to move Jefferson to make room for Love. This way they make room and gain Monta. Huge plus for them. Their contracts are close enough that a straight trade works. I'm ok with sending Biedrins with Monta in the trade but I can't possibly see what Minnesota would send us in return for Beans.
I really disagree that AR is worth more than Gortat. I like AR, but he will never make a good center, and he will never be as large and powerful as Gortat. He has potential but nobody truely knows how AR will turn out. Gortat is better than AR now, by a lot imho, and he is still young as well (26.) He has only been in the NBA for two years now and he has been seeing limited playing time in Orlando. This is understandable since D. Howard plays his position. Gortat stands to become considerably better.
As far as Nelson hating half-court bigmen... **** Nellie. Nellie won't be here if/when Ellison buys the team. If Nellie thinks he won't be coaching next year, he'll pull a trade for some bigs just so he can break Lenny's record.
This would be a good trade. We'd still be very fast, have lots of scoring power, only now much of it will come from the post. Gortat + Jefferson will intimidate ANY team in the paint. That's a ton of beef!
Isn't this the "Trades" section of the forums?
I guess I could just constantly complain about everything and make derogatory statements about players. Oh wait, bigs has that covered already.
Please go back to calling Cartier a "wuss" or perhaps you can partake in some sort of socialist activity back in the good old U.K.
You think less of me?
As much as I like AR, truth is that he is not used properly and will probably leave once his rookie contract ends, as sad as that is, that is most likely and that's what the team deserves for what has been done with him.
To improve the team, with a different coach ofcourse, which should happen if not after this season then after next season, this trade where the team gets AJefferson and then gets Gortat and Bass is pretty good. Both AJefferson and Gortat are big, strong and very good in a more than one area. Gortat looks very unused and yet to see how good that guy can really be. That would make a monstrous PF and C combo, both in the starting five and off the bench, as Bass and Turiaf are beefy themselves.
To be honest, I'd do it, but that would be considering the draft position the team gets and then getting a hold of another guard, either a PG or SG to go alongside Curry. Without that, the team has a backcourt rotation of Curry and Watson at PG and Morrow and Azu at SG, and that's with Azu playing some SF as well.
Feasible trade, but I'd like nothing more than AR to stay and be used heaps next season, making him a core player, possibly star, of the team and making him stay for alot longer here

the Monta one I'd do (they wouldn't )
the AR one I wouldnt (they would)
I figure we'll get a top three pick. This means at least one of these three will be available... John Wall, Evan Turner, Wesley Johnson. Any could pair up with Curry imo.
I agree, but I also agree with your other point that AR will likely bolt when his contract is up. Although a management change could keep him here.
In spite of possibly pissing Bigs off again I'm going to post another possible trade combo with the Magic...
Warriors trades: Monta, Biedrins, Speedy, Raja
Orlando trades: R. Lewis, Gortat, Bass
So Orlando loses a scorer in Lewis but gaines one in Monta. They lose a
Center in Gortat but gain a center in Biedrins. I don't think they care about Bass. If they went for this, they are hoping for better chemistry with D. Howard. They would be thinking that a slashing Monta would lead to way more second chance put-backs with Howard than bricks from Lewis. They are also unsure if paying R. Lewis $18mil a year was worth it. They might also like having Raja Bell. They are a defensively minded team and Raja is know for being the same. He also gives them some of the 3 point shooting they lose from Lewis.
Finally, Orlando gets a nice chunk expirer money out of Speedy, and more still if they decide to let Raja go.
If AR comes back healthy, and turns into the player everyone thinks he can be, this trade makes the Warriors a very tall team. Throw in Wesley Johnson (more likely to be gettable than Wall or Turner) here's what you get....
PG - Stephen Curry 6'3" (and growing!)
SG - Wesley Johnson 6'7"
SF - Rashard Lewis 6'10"
PF - Anthony Randolph 6'11" (and maybe still growing)
C - Marcin Gortat 6'11"
This gives us speed AND a gigantic starting lineup. We have a great passer in our PG Curry, two 3 point sharpshooters in Curry & Lewis. A sick slasher in Wesley Johnson. Lot's and lots of rebounds, blocks and D in the paint with AR & Gortat. If AR also learns to be a consistant scorer in the paint, then I'd say this is an ideal team.
Off the bench
PG - CJ Watson
SG - Corey Maggette
SF - Anthony Morrow
PF - Brandon Bass
C - Roniaf Turiaf
That's a brutal bench. We could probably get Bass a lot of minutes if he plays well. He's another bruiser and it'd be good to keep him around. Not sure if he'll accept coming off the bench.
Stay away from Rashard at all costs, he is just paid way too much for what he does. This trade really just makes the Magic better and cripples us. I'd much rather let the contracts of Claxton and Bell go and save the money

Exactly. The W's would never get involved in that. Rashad is one of the 10 worst contracts in the NBA. He make Maggs look like a steal.
I'd give AB and BW, throw in a future 1st rounder or one of the expirers we currently have, in a hearbeat for AJeff. It really doesn't matter what the tWolves FO is nowing saying, they were talking trading AJeff and almost did, so they are open to offers and would listen to offers from us. Nelson is a bad coach for AJeff, that is well known, but he either will leave this offseason or the next one, so I'd make a trade for AJeff now, it will work soon if not right now
You are right, but the thing is, and this is the biggest thing to me, is that aR will likely just leave after his rookie contract expires. The way he has been treated is just wrong and most men, especially the young ones, don't forget that and leave when they can. The trade Chum listed gets the team what it needs, more size and strength and rebounding and defense. Gortat looks real untapped and that means he should only be better given the opportunity.
AR is awesome, a real potential star, but most likely it won't be here, one way or the other, though most of us wish it would be
