Ok Bigs went crazy and made a thread about a bunch of metrosexuals who kick a ball around and get paid millions of dollars to act like a bunch of fairys.
This is the official Rugby Thread...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_union <-check link if you want to know more.
There is 2 codes of Rugby played on the planet and it's League & Union... if you don't know what Rugby is basically it's the original game where American Pro Football originated from... Rugby's original origins come from the game of soccer by a man named William Webb Ellis... Basically in the early 1800's he attended a school called Rugby School and during one game of soccer he had the urge to pick up the ball and run towards the goal.. totally against the laws of the game, but somehow the pupils of the school chased him and the game was originated.

There's been 2 codes of Rugby that have evolved and one is Rugby Union (which is the most popular sport played in the Southern Hemisphere) and the other is Rugby League (Which is played predominately in England and Australia)
For any Bay Area Natives who are interested in the game of Rugby Union, It is well noted that UCAL Bears hold the most esteemed and established Rugby Program in North America... Most of the U.S National team comes from the Berkeley Program and i have posted the scores from the last 2 decades or so of the NCAA National Championship Game

What's up with all these wannabe-football threads? Nah, jk. I love Rugby, it's a fun game to watch, and an even tougher one to play.
But I guess the only reason I watch it is because our local team kicks major a*s. Cal Bears that is. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

Yeah fa real? you like Rugby? Your my new favorite moderator xbay!!! Any American who'll listen will know that my favorite saying is. "America is one Adrian Peterson away from being the best team in the world" You got a large talent pool dude but obviously a lot of kids in high school tend to play Gridion... i saw a ESPN Doco talking about Rugby being on the rise in america and how they'll be a major threat when they get those super gifted athletes playing it. Actually i just wikipedia some info about the game cause i remember an american telling me the last team to win a gold medal for rugby at the olympics (before the sport got pulled from competition was USa) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_unio ... r_Olympics Wow!!! |
