I'm sorry if this was already posted, I did a search on the board but nothing seemed to come up for it. I just had this sent to me, I thought I would share it with you all. I doubt he'd be ready for the 31st, which IMO is beneficial. I'm not saying the guys wouldn't be able to beat Houston with Yao on, but this could be an advantage. What do you think?

Depends on the gameplan. Houston will be easier to defend, with only T-Mac as a clear threat, but they'll also be better defensively...

Ming played huge last game and without him the Rockets are at a disadvantage. The article says he will be out several weeks! Ouch for the Rockets

Being that he owned us last game, and the reason we lost, I'll say YES. =)

6 weeks, according to his official website, just in time to come back for the all-star game.

Unless Mutombo can rebound and block some, as well as a bit of scoring (don't expect much) the Rockets are in trouble! They can still win some games but it won't be blow outs! Unless they learn to run and gun, they will struggle without Yao.
Looks like the Rockets are cursed - This was going to be a good season for them ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Everyone expected the Rockets to get some 56 wins a month before the season...I myself predicted a low of just 49 wins and when I told people about it, people were shocked.
But with the problems they've had this year, with injuries and everything, they might not even make the playoffs. |
|
If they don't have anymore major injuries to key players (Yao and McGrady really) they will make the playoffs but I don't see them winning more than 50 games now, they are just too far behind. You never know though

rox season's over. they're 10-14 now, yao will miss the next 29 games, in which they probably will go 10-19, or even worse. assuming 45 is the magic number to make playoff, they'll have to go 25-4 after allstar break, which is not likely.
good news for warriors. |

IF (big if) they can be around .500 during Yao's absence, I think they'll be fighting for one of the last seeds of the playoffs.
Obviously, if T-Mac has more problems with his back, it's over... |
|
|
tmac's problem is not his back, but his heart. the other night against raptors, when he was needed most, he refused to take responsibility, passed the ball away, shot only 7 times and lost the game. he just doesn't possess a winner's mentality.

Yao is set to miss "up to 6 weeks", that 'll mean he will miss up to 25 games but likely a little less ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Yeah, what I mean is that their only option right now is to defend better, and hope T-Mac has a monster season from now on, as he's their only reliable offensive threat. Not saying it's going to happen... |
|
Tracy McGrady is one of the players with the biggest heart there is! He lead the Rockets last season and they almost knocked off the Mavs! He has been working hard for so long ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Yep, but only on the offensive side. That's not heart. That's ego. |
