A day after saying that the Warriors "obviously" were going to make changes this summer to avoid having a second straight bad season, coach Don Nelson offered more details Tuesday of his planned makeover.
Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson starting in the backcourt, Jamal Crawford coming off the bench, Corey Maggette and Kelenna Azubuike returning to their natural small-forward positions, and Anthony Randolph and Brandan Wright splitting time at power forward.

"We've got our center position pretty well taken care of," Nelson said. "We've got a great sixth man (Maggette). The people that we've invested our money in ... (Ellis) hasn't been able to play all year," Nelson said.

"We've got a lot of talent at the other positions that's either going to help us acquire somebody who's a good fit, or going to be able to rise up and be part of what we're doing."-- San Francisco Chronicle

judging by this, next season our lineup should look like this:

Monta / Crawford / CJ
Jackson / Belinelli / Morrow
Buike / Maggs
Randolph / Wright
Biedrins / Turiaf

...hopefully crawford opts out and CJ doesnt expect any more than 2 million. morrow should still be cheap.

Wonder what Crawford will think about that. That'd make him what, 7th man? lol

Kinda figured AR would be a PF until something else develops.

ugh, I just don't see that lineup with a winning record. I see Randolph and Biedrins fouling out immediately and maggs playing the 4 to D up tough PFs. both of those situations result in a warrior loss. in general, the same no defense / streaky offensive product we've seen for the entire nelson era.

If there is no moving SJ our of the SG spot then monta better learn the PG roll by the end of this season. right now it looks like:

Shooting Guard / Shooting Guard / back up Shooting Guard
Shooting Guard / back up SG/PG / back up Shooting Guard
backup SF / Small Forward
skinny PF / Skinny PF
Center / Center
U-Dough, the BAKER®

Play nice you two

Nelson said this? I'll believe it when I see it.

Exactly. We've got well covered the center position, but everybody else is playing out of position or shouldn't start.

I particularly cringe at the thought of Monta being our PG.

And it's a shame, because we have several good pieces... but we still need two starters, at PG and PF, and to move back some other players to their real positions (Monta and Jackson).

I thought I read somewhere that Nelson wants Jackson to be his PG. This article only says Monta and Jackson in the backcourt but does not say which one where.

As much as I despise the Monta at PG thing, Jackson at PG would be even worse!!!

Nellie said something like that a couple of times when the season was just starting, but I haven't heard it again lately. Hopefully he ain't even considering it, because it would be a complete disaster.
