Now that its looking more like amare is probably going to portland, tyson chandler is on the trading block according to espn, i think chandler along side beans can be something special, as far as how we ge get him? well i think the dubs have trading pieces to get him, i think this would be better for dubs, i mean yes amare is a better scorer but we have enough of that.
rebounding and shot blocking would increase with chandler playing along side beans not to mention scoring around the basket and alley oops would bring back sell out crowds and the playoffs back to oracle next year.
Thoughts?
Something else dubs can build on....

i like chandler, but he needs a good point guard to be effective. his defense has gone down from what it was 2 years ago, but if we could get a good point guard that could get him involved, then id be all for it.
the only thing he'd be here for is rebounding and defense...thats all he'd be good for without chris paul anyway. "the victorious warrior wins first, and then goes to war; the defeated warrior goes to war first, and hopes to win."- The Art of War

Tyson Chandler WITH Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler WITHOUT Chris Paul are two completely different players. If we still had BD, i'd give this a maybe. But not anymore.

but to me, that's what we need the most help with. we've got more than enough scorers as evidenced by the score of the knicks game. if we can't get amare or bosh (which is highly likely that we won't be seeing them in a warriors uniform), we should at least find a "servicable" PF who fits Nelly's uptempo game and unload some guards/wings to make that happen. if Nelly doesn't like what he's got (wright, randolph) as options for power forward, then find somebody he'll play instead of having them rot on the bench. not playing his bench isn't going to help move any of Nelly's "afterthoughts". brandon bass, chris wilcox, paul millsap. i'd love to see any of these guys on the dubs. we need one more active big (who nelly trusts of course, so they have to be a vet) to go with biedrins and turiaf. |

i agree that those are areas which the warriors need help....the main areas. but getting chandler would clog the lane. he would take up so much of the space that the rest of our players use to score. put him next to biedrins and suddenly biedrins is scoring less and monta isnt getting to the basket. take him off the bench and suddenly buike and maggs arent getting to the bucket as often. chandler is no longer as agile, nimble, nor athletic as biedrins, turiaf, wright, or randolph. so while our rebounding and blocks improve (and defense on big men), production on offense slows down incredibly. thanks for the input guys, i was thinking milsap but i made a thread on chandler because he is on the trading block other than amare and bosh and thought he can be good along side beans....
anyway what the heck append to hendrix? he had potential to be a milsap type player, is he in the d league? hopefully we get him back on our roster and kick kurz out. Clifford Rozier rememer him?

the warriors waived him when monta's suspension ended. last i heard he was tearing up the boards in the D-League. edit:// Hendrix's numbers for the last 3 games (Dakota of the D-League) 14pts, 15reb, 2ast, 2stl, 1blk, 6-8fg 30pts, 18reb, 3ast, 1stl, 3blk, 14-20fg 12pts, 17reb, 2ast, 0stl, 1blk, 4-8fg i definiely think we could have used that rebounding and blocking this season (more so this past week). I agree. PG needed.
Here's Tyson's scouting report from his draft year:
I'd kill for him if he had that 16 foot jump shot. otherwise, him and beans won't be on the court at the same time. but any new big man would allow turiaf to play more at pf. which would be stellar. Mr. Rand-McAlly
