man...if portland can pull that off...they are going to own the western conference. makes perfect sense for the suns to do that trade too. aldridge is young and talented. kind of a poor man's amare. lafrentz's contract is huge coming off this year. and jerryd bayless could be a stud backing up nash for two seasons before eventually taking over the reigns.

Yea, this trade could happen. Don't know what Bayless can really do, as he hasn't shown much this season, but who knows. Portland could even throw in another of their young players, like Diogu, Rodriguez, Outlaw or Webster, they have lots to chose from ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

bayless actually had a 4-5 game stint where he did really well when blake first went down. but rodriquez is getting more of the tick at PG now so bayless' minutes arent coming consistent enough for him to get a feel for the game. if he got enough time tho, i could see him emerging kinda like mike conley is this season. Be something if that trade happened and Bayless did well for the Suns, possibly even be groomed for starting PG spot once Nash leaves. If I was in charge of the Suns I'd be looking for talent above all else because the big three are leaving and soon and once they do, the Suns have little left on that team without replacements. I like the Suns, hope they figure it out ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Portland Backs Off Amare, Looking For Elite Point Guard?
Feb 12, 2009 12:07 AM EST The trade talks between the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers about Amar'e Stoudemire have fallen apart, CBSSports.com has learned. The deal Portland was discussing with Phoenix involved LaMarcus Aldridge, Jerryd Bayless, and Raef LaFrentz's $12.7 million expiring contract. "That deal is dead," the person familiar with the talks said. One reason could be that Portland is really looking to acquire an elite point guard, according to an NBA team executive. http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... int_guard/ _____________________________________________________________ Can't believe the Blazers want a PG over a star bigman. It isn't like Oden is doing well and he certainly is not a sure thing at all, rather a disappointment. That just opens the door for other teams to get Amare and the more that cancel trying to get him, the better it is for us, should there be any chance of getting him, which there likely isn't NBA's Largest TPE Helping Bulls In Trade Talks Feb 12, 2009 12:11 AM EST Phoenix is now focused on Eastern Conference teams in their attempt to find the best package possible for Amar'e Stoudemire. The Bulls remain a serious contender due to Drew Gooden's expiring contract and Larry Hughes' expiring deal next season, plus the largest expiring trade exception in the league ($5.2 million). But Miami is the latest team to emerge as a serious landing spot for Stoudemire, a person with direct knowledge of the talks said Wednesday night. http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... ade_talks/ _____________________________________________________________ With this added information on the Bulls, reckon they are now the frontrunners to get Amare. With Gooden expiring this offseason, the T.E and Hughes expiring after next season, the Suns will be in huge salary advantage to sign three or four great free agents. Hard to believe the Suns just would settle for expirers, they will be left with little talent. If I were them, Deng and either TThomas or Noah, along with Gooden and the TE would be enough, as they would get two promising young bigs that play defense and can run, as well as Gooden who could be resigned for a reasonable deal if they wated to keep him. Bulls would have Rose, Gordon and Amare to build around ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

It basically says what I've read in about five or six other articles. The only problem is being able to make that trade, as the Warriors are not the only team looking at those players. I think the team, if the management was competent that is, would have to throw alot to get either Amare/Bosh/Boozer and really they should, whether the guy resigned or not, you have to go for it with a team that is heading nowhere good right now ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

how about
Stoudamire for Randolph, Maggette, Turiaf (& a first rounder?) This would get rid of 1 of our bad contracts and at the same time be able to keep our foundation of Ellis and Biedrins. PHX would get Turiaf and a prospect who both could play PF to replace Amare. It'd suck losing a high prospect and Turiaf, but Stoudamire is a force and an all star, only 26, and elevates our team right now. Ellis Belinelli S Jackson Amare Biedrins 6. Crawford vaaaerry niiice! |

How about it - Crawford can opt out, maybe Kerr, the fool, will see that as an expirer. Trade Crawford and Kurz for Amare, that way Phoenix gets the young PF star they've been after
