Do you have anything special that you drink for the holiday? Either alcoholic or non-alcoholic?
My favorite non-alcoholic drink I learned when I had a vegan over for Christmas last year and had to find a way of making vegan eggnog. You can also add liquor to this:
1 cup peeled mango
1 peeled banana
2 cups vanilla soy milk
3 tbsp. brown rice syrup
2 ½ tbsp. fruit-flavored lecithin granules
¼ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. vanilla extract
Blend ingredients, chill before serving, serves 4.
My favorite source of alcoholic drink recipes is http://www.thebar.com/ I like that they let you sort by occasion so that I can figure out what drinks go well for my parties. I’d sure as hell rather get advice from Jack about that than Martha Stewart. Anyone know why that actor looks so familiar to me?
Drinking's a sport, right?

Sam Adams Winter Lager is what's crammed in my fridge right now, because I'm a fan of seasonal brews. Sierra Nevada's Summerfest Ale just went off the shelves, so I'm alternating between Sam Adams & Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale (their Winter Lager). Besides, drinking beer over the holidays gives me a reason not to over-eat. I'm saving my calories for cold ones!

Heh. I learned to make non-alcoholic drinks because I was trying to impress a lady. It worked, well, she was impressed by the whole package (heh, or so I'd like to believe). Anyway, I noticed since then that a lot of people will actually choose a non-alcoholic option if it's tasty and available. Mostly women, though. Thebar.com has made me drink far more than I used to. I haven't gotten to each and every drink yet, but pretty much everything with chocolate in it I've tried. I dunno whether it's the quality of the liquor they suggest or what, but I've never gotten a hangover off a drink I made from that site (except once, I made one of those fancy tropical things.... not good). |
Well, ladies may not be as impressed, but if you get them drunk, everything is smoother from that point... I don't take too many non-alcoholic drinks, I've become too used to vodka (when clubbing). But I'm open to change. Maybe I'll try some of the ones I saw on that site during Christmas... |

Definately is easier once they're drunk...........
thebar.com is only open to U.S. residents so I can't enter the site...... Know how to get around it? ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Yeah, say you're an U.S. resident...

I dunno if that'll work for him, TMC... a lot of internet connections broadcast where it's coming from. That's why some sites are banned in some countries...

It works, I had that same problem, and manage to get into doing that and using a random zip code.
