Talk about anything general in the NBA here.

what is up with these sports leagues firing these coaches too early, and good ones too. Like Cheeks led a little name squad last year to the playoffs. I wish they let him finish the entire season, a squad like philly could bounce back.

Tragic!

if he can't come up with the right system to fit elton brand, he needs to go. coaching a fastbreak team (which they were last year) is a lot easier then teaching half court sets (which they are trying this year).

Although, I have feeling Brand has forgotten how to play basketball after being hurt for so long.
I am Aussiebiedrins' fantasy. BITCH!

Definately harsh firing Cheeks so early, he didn't have much of a chance

I never liked Cheeks as a HC. Looks to me like assistant material. His job on the Blazers wasn't that great, and has the rep of not being a good X's and O's guy, more like a motivator than anything.

Nothing wrong with that, but I think a contender needs to have a different kind of coach, somebody that can make them play a step above of their talent level, something Cheeks wasn't doing.

Phily thought they were getting their answer to their inside scoring problems with Brand. What they ended up getting is a guy who only takes 15 foot jumpers. Brand's unwillingness to be an interior player has really hurt this club.
