How nice is it that a guy actually took less money to come to the Warriors. When was the last time that happened?

Iggy gives us exactly what we needed: a defensive specialist, like I've been saying all year!

This puts Klay on the 2nd best perimeter guy and essentially hides Curry on that end of the floor. This is a HUGE win. Iguodala/Thompson outside and Bogut inside makes us one of the soundest defensive teams in the league WHILE STARTING David Lee and Stephen Curry! It gives us another playmaker! It allows the team to experiment with Barnes as a stretch 4 off the bench, softening the blow of losing Landry, and putting Green in the lineup as a minute-heavy backup forward who can bring rebounding and defense off the table (no more roadblocks from Rush or RJ).

"Does losing Landry and Jack hurt?"

...

... I'm sorry, I didn't hear your question. I was too busy counting the all-stars in the starting lineup. 8)

Wow! Unbelievable news. Congratulations 32 on finally getting your man. It may be a season later than you hoped but better late than never. I think 48 million over 4 years is a great price for a player of his talents. There is definitely another trade coming up involving 2 of the following - Lee, Barnes, Thomson and Bogut.

How do the Nuggets feel right now? They're still recovering from us belting them in the playoffs and now we steal their best player.

Do we now go for a trade for KLove using Lee and Barnes or Lee and Thompson? I don't know how the salaries match up. I love Lee, Barnes and Thompson but I'd pull the trigger on either of those deals.

Interesting quote from Iguodala:

“Mark Jackson does an incredible job with his players, in terms of getting the most out of them,” Iguodala said. “I feel like I fit right in. I think me and Harrison Barnes are going to be one of the best wing combos in the league. And Steph Curry, he’s one of the most popular players in the league right now. They’re going to push me; I’m going to push them.”

No mention of Thompson. I wonder if he knows something that we don't.

We have Trade exceptions so if Minnesota wanted to give him to us for free we could absorb his entire contract. Lol.

Lee and Green for Love I'd still do, but add no more players or the team would be thin and have to sign FAs to fill the bench holes quick, which is pretty easy actually, but I wouldn't give more than that to Minnesota, as Love has already shown unhappiness the last year with being there. Coming here would be perfect for him.

++++1

Klay can guard any opposing difficult pgs e.g. Tony Parker, Westbrook, Rose, and Iggy can guard your perennial scorers like Durant, LBJ, and Carmelo. I love the make up of this team. It's imperative that we find a little depth though.

I love what Iggy brings, but it worries me that he had his worst offensive year in quite a while. I will be honest. That contract scares me.

However, it's really nice to hear that he took a discount to come play here.

curry, thompson, iggy, barnes and bogut - a championship caliber 'spread the floor' unit AND completely awesome on the eyes with two highreel dunkers, two lights out shooters, two extremely competent blockers, two very good thieves, two slashers, almost 5 creators. defense and ball movement should be amazing with one of the best shooting percentages in the league. we are build to win against miami, if only bogut is healthy enough to propel us past houston/grizzlies, we will give an amazing run for the series to any team.
getting closer.
oh, and we have lee, who is a bit redundant with our wing power, but nonetheless he'll fit right in playing center in super small ball team and not so exciting but i believe still good enough for kicking half of the teams' ass in a traditional big lineup.
love this trade.
now fill the backups with couple of players and see what the good, the better and the beautiful can do this season.
"i wish i was a little bit taller" skee lo

A lot of pundits are crowning Houston as a top 3 team, so I think it's worth mentioning that we have Bogut to guard someone like Dwight and Iggy to shut down Harden. Even though they took the season series last year, I'm not afraid of Houston at all.

So July 10th is a very important date. How we officially acquire Iguodala will greatly affect our ability to sign free agents to round out the roster. Here's an article that explains all:

http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/07/the- ... um=twitter

Basically, if we sign Iguodala outright, we lose almost all of our exception. We lose our mid-level and all 3 trade exceptions that we gained from trading RJ, AB, and Rush to Utah. If Denver agrees to a sign-and-trade, it gives us a lot more flexibility to sign other free agents to say the least.
