I'm gonna take the 2nd best PG in the game: Chris Paul.

Goddamn you, 8th.

We said that we don't look at the potential, right?

So, I'm gonna go with Kobe for the Suns.

Correct, we're looking for immediate output. In other words, whatever production you expect from this player for this upcoming season.

Umm this season right?

What about quasi season ending injuries... Kobe is a expensive guy to waste 1st round pick on to ride pine and hobble on crutches

Well, Guybrush is assuming that he'll be healthy by opening day 2013-'14.

These teams are being assembled in the mindset that it's THIS offseason and we're preparing for the immediate upcoming year. So Kobe went down on crutches at the year's end, but if he gives you 70 games next year, he's still 1st-round worthy.

I'd bet a lot on Kobe giving it his all next season. He's gonna get in the best shape possible, to prevent getting injured again, and to show everyone that he can still ball. And it's not like he missed a lot of games throughout his career.

To me, Kobe will always be better than Carmelo and Harden.

How are we going to evaluate players. True shooting percentage?

Yeah, I'm confident Kobe will be ready to go by the time season starts.

 If that's your thing, that's your thing.

But after the rosters are all formed, every person drafting will get 50 total points to distribute amongst the teams as they see fit. Better teams get more points, worse teams get less (or no) points. The twist is that users CANNOT vote for their own teams (or we'd all surely pick our best team as the NBA champions). Once we've all tallied our vote totals, the winner will be declared as the team most guys pick as the best overall roster; thus, the Redistro NBA champion.

But that's a ways away. I bet we don't conclude this til September; everybody is gung ho in the 1st round, but by round 9 I'll bet I'll be autodrafting for 2 or 3 guys here regularly. Role players aren't as glamorous.

Yeah, it's gonna take some time, that's for sure. And evaluation part is then after the season has ended? But, it should be fun. Hopefully guys will see this through.

I probably would have taken Harden ahead of Bryant anyway, but...

That article is chilling, Guy. Makes Kobe seem more like a 4th or 5th round pick if he ends up dropping 4 PER points and playing half the regular season games. For a safe bet pick, Bryant definitely has a load of question marks at this juncture...

I kind of wanted to pick Dwade over Harden for defensive reasons, but his knee is too big of a concern for me because he plays really awful on a bad knee. At least, from what I have seen. Too bad to be chance too, has to be something in the playoffs.
