What's up TMC! Can you confirm other news on this rumor? Not that I really care, but just curious if there's some validity to this. A roster spot is a roster spot and free up some money. :thumbright:

Kosta Perovic heading to Valencia

Kosta Perovic(2.18-C) is a name in the long list of european players that just couldn't cut it in the NBA. Nevertheless he might be the answer to the prayers of Valencia that were looking for one more player to cover their front line.

The 23-year old serbian center left Partizan with high hopes and was signed by the Golden State Warriors last season after he was drafted at number 38 in the 2nd round of the 2006 Draft. Perovic unfortunately was another decorative 7-footer in an NBA roster but in Europe he can make a difference.

The roster of Pamesa Valencia was almost complete until Tomas Van Der Spiegel decided not to sign with them and go for a higher paying contract. According to spanish newspaper terra.es Kosta Perovic seems to be the main target of coach Katsikaris who sees in him the last piece of the puzzle.

Perovic only managed to play 7 games last season and averaged 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds.

First news I've got about it. I thought they were looking for a PG and that their inside game was set... Wouldn't be shocked if it happens, but I haven't heard Kosta's named tied to Valencia til now.


Also, the source is not the more reliable. For starters, it's not a newspaper, but a website.

I sure hope this is true. I want that roster spot for hopefully Hendrix.

Damn right!!!..............I remember reading 2 months ago that it was a given that Kosta was going back to Europe, so Ive been resigned to/happy about it since then really.

Yeah, I’m with you guys on Hendrix.

This thing is probably bogus, then. It does state terra.es as the source, but not sure if that’s true or if means anything.

If he has a 2year deal with us, there's no way we can get rid of him right? I mean a contract is a contract right? although there might be something in the fine print about "if both parties agree to part ways then..."

anybody know about this stuff?

without knowing his contract exactly, there may be a buyout option in his contract for a Euro team.

Kosta was a second rounder, and rookie contracts for second rounders are not guaranteed. The team can cut him any day if they want to.
