Sorry if I'm late or if this has already been posted, just thought you guys should hear this lol...

Finals MVP Paul Pierce, who recently spent three days at a ball camp in Madrid, is making, ahem, news about what he said to a Spanish reporter. The money translation, via RedsArmy: "Q: Is Kobe really the best player in the world? Pierce: I don't think Kobe is the best player. I'm the best player. There's a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don't cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself." Surprisingly, Spurs fans seem more upset by this than actual Lakers fans. (Update: OK, Lakers Nation is pretty upset, too.)

what a clown......P.pierce need to go to rest room and look at the mirror and said "is this the face of the best player of the world"...what a joke not even close to be top ten best players in the world....
one on one with kobe, i will say kobe will win
one on one with monta, no contest Monta will kill him use his quickness
one on one with MJ, oh my gosh ...MJ left hand already more than enough to handle him...

so P.Pierce before u say something, plz look at yourself in the mirror...

Well, if he said so in Madrid, I wouldn't discount the chance that it was totally taken out of context (like a cut and paste of sentences)... Remember that I know our sports media, which is usually way worse than the american one. Anything to sell papers.

If it wasn't edited, it'd be interesting to know the context in which he said so. It just seems too preposterous to believe it.

Our media will edit, anything. I mean, c'mon. We just had a Celtics vs Lakers Finals match up. Kobe was MVP of the season but he sure wasn't playing like one against the Celtics. Pierce played spectacular. Pierce feels like he's on top of the world. So when he's interviewed, the media takes parts of his interview and edits it into something bogus that he never truly said. For all we know he probably added some joking smile in at the end.

If this wasn't edited, I'd be shocked. That's how bad our media is.

look at these players, if u want make a trade - would u take pierce over all these players...personally, i will say no....i will pass Pierce anytime for all these players.

Right now, to start a team from scratch or to get a player that sets the team up for winning now and the future, the young guys on that list would be better options but talking about talent, Pierce beats most of them and has been a superstar for years.

Pierce, to me, beats everyone on that list "right now" except

and it can be debated with Dirk and Duncan, not to me but most on here
