Could be a great trade for the Rockets, talentwise it is at least. Not much given up by the Rockets either, as was mentioned.
Lots of very one sided trades happening recentlyly, like the Gasol and Camby trades and now this. Definately does make already good teams much better. Artest would have to be PF really, as Battier and TMac are SG and SF and that really would give a very mobile lineup for Houston. If Artest behaves nearly all the time, the Rockets could be real contenders and likely a top 3 team in the West ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Well... at least we won't have to worry about those "close games" against the Kings, anymore now that Bibby and Artest are gone. Greene is an intriguing player, though.

yeah the rockets are a whole lot better now wit artest defending for them. plus he did very well with adelman coaching him and knows adelman's system pretty well (which is some what similar to nelson's might i add). movin battier to PF makes them a pretty legit running team while still being an excellent defensive team. or even havin battier come off the bench gives them some depth.

I think this move puts them as a team that isn't quite a title contender but can go deep in the playoffs, ala Utah. I think they'd likely put Artest at PF rather than Battier, because Artest fits more into the 3/4 mismatch mold. Greene will only be a poor man's Rashard Lewis, IMO (which still is a solid contributor).

They got rid of a player that they wanted nothing to do with, Bobby Jackson is a fan favorite and an expiring contract, Donte Green is a hell of a player (and makes uo for the Kings horrible pick this year), and they get another 1st rounder next year. Not a horrible trade for a nut case... ![]() |
