Since I see people talking about KNBR in the Camby thread I thought I should make a whole thread in dedication to KNBR.

Best in order:

Gary Radnich: He's a Bay Area legend, and him and Bruno for 30 min is hilarious

Damon: I listen to him the most, mostly because I wanna hear Giants/Warriors postgame. I am getting a little sick of the pound it pound it and dave feldhouse drops.

Razor/Mr. T: Ralph's interviews are great, mostly because he's not afraid to rip/ask the hard questions (i,e, Kimberly Bell last year). Tom is pretty funny and knows the NBA a little.

Fitz/Brooks: Too much fake laughing. Whenever I put these guys on there always laughing...in a non-believable way. They are good at talking Warriors ball and giving inside info thanks to Fitz.

Murph/Mac: These guys just suck. Murph is smart but it's hidden under his and Paulie's stupidity and effort to be funny. Paulie's songs are absulutely horrendous. These guys have to go. My replacements: Raj Mathai (NBC 11) and Michael Urbyn (Giants weekends)

razor and t
awsome combo..mr t has a unique personality and is REAL tommy is very REAL down toearth and funny...tommy knows basketball and has some ins when it comes to having nellie as a guest. Dont forget tommy did some color commentating for basketball, not sure why we didnt see him last year.

fitz and brooks...rod was sideline man for raiders and now niners he has some insights to nfl..fitz well he wont ever give up secrets but he knows the dubs better than anyone on radio.

Gary has NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE sports wise ...he is a personality and an entertainer....he doesnt want to talk sports he just wants to make noise.

I've always thought that Fitz was at his best when he was hosting the evening/night show, especially after Giants and Warrior games. He knew his stuff.

I think most of the morning and afternoon shows are crap when it comes to talking sports. Still entertaining, but rarely do any of the hosts really break down sports.

My order:

Damon Bruce- the only guy that tells it like it is. I respect him for that.
Fitz and Brooks- I love hearing Warriors talk, and they consistantly give it. Also, Fitz is a very nice guy. I was telling webelieve about this yesterday, but my dad did a job on his house a couple of years ago. Said he was one of the nicest guys he has worked for. He brought lunches for all of them (good ones, I might add) and he gave them all front row seats to a Giants game. I remember going up to meet him. He was cool.
Ralph and Tom- again, they are one of the only shows that constantly talks Warriors. Ralph is terrible, though. He needs to leave. I would love to have a show of Tom and Brent Jones.
Gary Radnich- He is terrible, as well. He doesnt even talk about sports. He rants about something for two hours, then mentions sports once. For example, this last week alone, they talked for over an hour on how cough syrup works like Viagra, why Wikipedia is bad, and about how he cannot dance. Also, he and Bruno are a couple of old men who laugh and make jokes and think they are funny. Reminds me of an old family reunion, and that isnt a good thing. Also, he spends more time talking about how good some of the old movies were. He and Dibley spend an hour each show talking about some stupid crap, that, as he would say, "nobody cares." He needs to go. Michael Urbyn is a great guy that would fill his spot in good.
Murph and Mac- Why they are still on, I dont know. All they do is talk about movies and celebrities. Who the hell cares? You guys are sports talk-show hosts.

On another note, Reggie, I heard you talk with Gary today about how he doesnt want to dance at Woodson's wedding. I dont blame him. Nobody wants to see it, anyways. I thought your comment was pretty funny, though. "Gary, when you get to a certain age in life, you stop caring what people say." Classic.

IDK why everyone is hating on Gary. He is a Bay Area Legend...do you really want to hear sports talk all day??? Gary brings some other topics off because there fun to talk about. He has the best knowledge of anybody on KNBR. Him and Tony are the best 30 min on radio.

My cousin caddied for Fitz at The Institute and says he is hella sick. Nice guy, coo, and hooks him up with tix.

Ralph's voice is annoying at times, but his interviews are really good. Especially when Nellie or Sabean go on. Anyone remember him and Sabean going at it?

Murph and Mac are by far the worst.

I'm not a big fan of Gary, either. Yes, I want to hear sports talk all day long. That's why I turned the dial to KNBR, the sports leader? Don't you guys have Rome on 1050? He's one of the best in the country, although he talks national sports, not Bay Area sports (obviously).

I never warmed to Damon Bruce, but guys in that slot are always the "tell it like it is" guys. Larry Kruger used to be my absolute favorite until he went on a rant about Alou and Feliz using some unflattering language (ethnicity for Feliz) and ended up getting fired after the morning show guys made a parity out of it.

Larry Kruger got a majorly bad deal. He made a mistake but he deserved better than he got. Now that I think about it, I think he sued and later settled with KNBR over his firing.

I used to HATE Jim Rome, but a few years back I was helping my buddy out at his bakery on Friday mornings and I started listening to his full show. He is a superb interview. He does his homework and must have his questions scripted prior because he does an amazing job when he gets an athlete from any sport on the phone.

Now, he can also be one of the biggest brown nosers out there, but I forgive him that because he's so very, very good at other parts of his job. Some of his bits are hilarious as well.

First of all, Gary isnt a Bay Area legend. If most of the Bay Area havn't heard of somebody (and most havn't heard of Gary), you aren't a legend. He is just a guy that has been on the radio for a long time. Do you consider Ralph a legend?

Also, yeah, I do want to hear sports all day. If I didnt, I would listen to something else (probably country). Gary knows all about old things.... old teams, old players, that type of thing. Fitz, Brooks, and Damon Bruce all know more sports now than Gary. He and Tony are complete idiots acting like they are 18 again.

The only people that like Gary are old people. You listen to most of the callers, they are almost all 45, 50+. Gary's style is not for young people, and that is an issue with me.

It's funny how much our opinions differ on radio personalities. If I hear Gary and Tony together I'm changing the station.
