In Chris Paul, JR Smith and desmond Mason, they have a trio of young talented players who will only get better. Sure their frontline stinks but that's what the draft and freeagency is for. Some of their international players look promising as well. They won't be champions with this team ever but they could improve to the point of being at least a 50% team in about 4 years

Eh, it would take a HUGE lottery pick, a miracle to turn Mason into anything but a jammer, Chris Paul would need to have the biggest upside of any rookie in the draft this year, and Michael Jordan needs to die and inhabbit the body of JR Smith for New Orleans to go anywhere. Imagine Toronto trading Chris Bosh for Desmond Mason. That's basically what the Hornets did with Jammal Magloire. Bad trade.

Think you are being very negative. They have potential and Mason played very well last season

Desmond Mason averaged 17 points last season and NOTHING else... the game's more than how much you score, migya. That's why Pietrus and Biedrins aren't starting, despite being shooters than Dunleavy and Foyle.

Desmond Mason is a decent rebounder and scorer. The hornets could use anything good right now and Mason brings a few things that they can build on. He is stil young and should get better as well

I can agree with that... I still think they got the short end of the stick.

Probably around the 20s. I also think Milwaukee got the better end of the deal, but at least the pick makes it not so lopsided.

But, like migya said, it depends on what the pick actually does

If Milwaukee doesn't make the playoffs, which is very likely, the hornets will get 2 lottery picks next year. That is very good and they should be able to build with that!

True. But aside from Indiana and Detroit, nothing's for certain in their division. That may be a surprise team with Magloire.

The Bucks seem to have the talent but alot of teams in the East have enough talent and the Bucks look awkward. I don't think they will make the playoffs and that is the best thing for poor hornets. They really could use 2 lottery picks next year

You never know; the Hornets are doing all they can to improve the Bucks at the moment (they gave up Magloire, who's pretty much all they got). Maybe they should send them Desmond Mason back for a draft pick and be done with it.

Eh, all I'm saying is that New Orleans is throwing all their established talent away, basically, so they can get the #1 pick after this season and pair Chris Paul with a blockbuster player. That would kick start the franchise and set them up for the future. Combine that with a possible free agent sign, and you've got a rejuvinated squad. I can see it now; new jerseys, new attitude, new "face of the Hornets" player... sounds logical to me
