You forgot to add the Robert Parish and Vince Carter options. Even though they never donned a uniform they still were once Warriors and they have both awesome achivements.

But like Robert Parish and Vince Carter, Wilt Chamberlin will ALWAYS be remembered as a LAKER or SIXER. So i'd like to say his the greatest Warrior but his jersey is already retired in other arenas.

Mullin was fabulour, But the only hardware he ever won was with Jordan and the Dreamteam in 1992. Title is hands down to Rick Barry, he has the championship Ring and his name is cemented in record books across this globe.

A lot of posters seem to have based their choice on who they think is the best SanFran or GS Warrior, as if the Philly teams don't count, but it was the same franchise. As I recall, the ownership, staff, and players moved from Philly to SanFran, so you shouldn't dismiss the Philly players just because they played in a different city. That said, I find it difficult to believe that anybody would pick anyone but The Stilt. The guy's numbers were incredible for any era, and his impact on the sport is undisputable. On top of that, it's not fair to compare a player of one era with those of another era (e.g. the comparison of Wilt to Shaq). Wilt dominated the game like no other Warrior player has, so in my mind he was the greatest player ever to "don" a Warriors' uniform.

But if you're limiting the choice to players who played in the Bay Area, Rick Barry is the obvious choice. Not only was he one of the all-time best in the NBA, he was the principal reason the Warriors won their only NBA championship since the 1950s. Perhaps you're too young to have witnessed his play with the Warriors that year, but without him the team
probably wouldn't have even made the playoffs!

As for Mullin, he was clearly the best player the Warriors have had in recent years, but he couldn't hold a candle to Barry's excellence. Barry may be a horse's ass, but the survey doesn't ask for the best-liked player in franchise history.

Well, comparing players in different eras is always going to happen. People do it all the time. And the truth is that Wilt was a Stilt... he was also as skinny as one. Throw Shawn Bradley into the 60's and see how dominating he would be. Wilt's game revolved around the fact that he was a taller player than anybody else. Big deal. If you gave Wilt the ball today against any of the league's big men, he'd be mediocre. I don't see the skill in standing under the basket 50 times and shooting over the shorter defender...

Amen, Rick Barry was a hero for Golden State. I don't think being young has anything to do with it. Legends never die; Rick Barry will always be a Warrior when it's said and done. Of course he was the main reason for the Warriors winning the ring that year; he dragged them to the top by his teeth, for God's sake.

Hey now, I'd hardly say that Chris Mullin couldn't hold a candle to Barry. Just because he sat on the bench the last 2 seasons of his career and let his career stats plummet doesn't mean he wasn't just as mean of a force. Mully couldn't carry the Warriors as far as Barry, true, but they were the same player in different generations. That's why we compare players in different eras; Mully played in a time where the game was above the rim... but he was probably the purest shooter in the league. Rick Barry was the purest shooter in the league before the league got into the air. Who's better than the other? That's probably a toss-up. But saying Mullin couldn't play against Barry (and play successfully) is wrong. They were a dead even matchup on skill, talent, and desire... but Mullin had the rotten luck of being born 2 decades too late.

I picked Chris Mullin because his love for the franchise and Warrior fans goes beyond simply playing for them and taking their money... Chris Mullin is now behind the scenes trying to improve the team in every aspect. Rick Barry did what... commentary... after he was done? Mullin's more of a Warrior than Barry ever was. And, seeing as their play was dead even, I'm taking the guy who's loyal over the man who disappeared.

Rick Barry has been lobbying for a job with the Warriors for quite some time, as a GM or Head Coach, and he wasn't given the chance. I don't know the details, but I've read about this several times.
