Mets trade for Johan Santana

The Dodgers have really dropped the ball and allowed the Mets to establish themselves as the best in the National League. It'll be interesting to see what NY does next year.
Wow, kind of surprises me. I didnt think they would have traded him. Hmm...

He's too expensive. Notice they signed their two best offensive guys and THEN let him go. He may be a $25 million guy on the open market. We'll see.

Yeah, I knew WHY they did. I just didnt think that they would. I wasnt sure they would get an equal value back.

Well, only time will tell in that regard. He's a potential HoFer that you'd give the ball to in game 7 of the world series against any team. Those are hard to come by. Sucks to be an organization that can't afford to keep your own product.

You'll laugh... but I actually like the Red Sox. Have for years, pretty much because of Nomar. Even when he left I still cheered for them against the Yankees, and now that they've won two World Series, I'm still cheering for them. I don't claim them as my team, but I do like watching them play.
If they can't make the playoffs this year then I don't know what to say.
The thing that surprised me the most was the lack of good prospects they got in return. The best pitcher in the league, and you dont even get the incoming team's best prospect? Their best prospect is Fernando Martinez, by the way. I would be pissed if I was a Twins fan.

Yeah...well they screwed the hell out of Sabes (FRANCISCO LIRIANO, BOOF BONSER and JOE NATHAN for a piece of ****!) but yeah...tough break for Twinkies fans!

It seems every time we make a trade, we get raped on it.
Accardo------> Chulk and Hillenbrand
Pierzynski-----> Bonser, Liriano, Nathan
Jerome Williams-----> LaTroy Hawkins
