He has had a better career but not THAT much better.
It mat take some 3 or 4 years before Marvin Williams becomes anything good and the Hawks have guys that may become better than him anyway. He can always be trade bait

Yes, but only because his career started so promising and became tainted by injuries.
Jamison has been nothing but an above average player his entire career. Carter became a superstar. I think there's a huge gap between where Antawn and Vince are established as players. Aside from Bay fans (and MAYBE Washing fans now), who's gonna remember Antawn Jamison?

Not only injuries. He'll also be remembered for lack of commitment to the game and his teams (unless he changes his ways).

Mavs fans?, j/k.
Jamison is good enough to have his own "followers". Migya and you were talking about Mason in other thread. He'll be remembered that way.
I think the reason we remember Anthony Mason is because he worked harder than anybody I remember in NBA history... and I'm the biggest Chris Mullin fan you'll find! Mason outworked his opponents and became a Top 5 power forward through sweat and pain.
Jamison is a good player, I'll give him that. But he wont have much of a memory 10-15 years after he retires. I don't know if many people are gonna remember Ma$e that long, either. I'm just saying, Carter is going to transcend time because he's known as the better dunker than Michael Jordan was... and, even though Michael is known as the best player of all time because he was a winner, Air Jordan's legacy started with the dunk. Vince dethroned him in many people's eyes (not mine, but certainly a huge amount of fans). He'll be remembered for decades because of his hangtime. If only that. Antawn Jamison hasn't earned that sort of legacy yet.

Ricky Pierce and Eddie Johnson were always among my favourite players, especially Pierce. When the Warriors got him, I really thought that he would be a gret producer off the bench and he was somewhat!
Jamison will be remembered somewhat like those two - A man that was not all that spectacular but was one of the best players on his teams, usually the best (on the Warriors that is)

Antawn has always been a great player, no question... I'm saying that until he wins an MVP or a ring or something that the league remembers, he wont have much of a legacy. Sure, players like us can recall Anthony Mason, Ricky Pierce, John Williams, Dino Raja... but those players never left a huge mark on the game. We only remember them because we've heard their names before and seen them.
No one has a real chance of playing in the ASG, not even LeBron made it in his rookie year. If I'm not mistaken, the last rookie to play in the ASG was Grant Hill... it's been a while...
But, if your talking in the long run, there are several players in this draft class with a chance to do it, not only Bogut (I'm sure Ike Diogu & Martell Webster will be all stars at some point in their careers), but it's too early to tell.

I doubt Andrew Bogut is going to play in the all-star game this year. And, TMC, if I'm not mistaken, Tim Duncan made the all-star team his rookie year, didn't he? I may be mistaken, but I think a 21 ppg rookie with 10 boards a game would be voted in...?
