I called you pythagoras a few weeks ago and I know why Great stat and definately a heck of an achievement for both cities. As far as Pistons and Celts go, I think the Pistons are a stronger team and by that mean they are more spread out over more players in production. One injury to one of the big three and the Celts will lose games most likely ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

That's a good point. However, I expect the big three to be well rested for the playoffs, and assuming no injuries, Boston is superior. |
|
They have certainly looked superior thus far and actually are on pace to have the most wins in nba history. Good to see you more active on the forum as well JPat ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Sounds like what I've been saying about Flip since... well, forever. Decent coach... just chokes during playoff games. Thanks for your insight, PistonsFan. |

The Pistons have enough proven players to win it all. However, in order for a team to win a championship lots has to go right, not only the coach or the players. So far Flip hasn't shown that he can succeed in the playoffs. When the going got tough in the conference finals two years in a row he couldn't adjust or adopt. Also, would you really want to have declining Ben Wallace for $15 mil/year and Webber who couldn't defend his own mother and is a bad presense in a locker room? Flip hasn't had much playoff experience. And he hasn't been good with adjustments. Also, the team has been playing out the string of defense-first coaches in Carlysle and Brown and Flip now finally realizes that he can only win important games with the defense. He got the team to buy into his way of thinking and hence you see the 25-7 record. I think this is going to be the year that will go a long way in defining his coaching career. He needs to succeed in the playoffs, and that's the bottom line. So far Pistons fan like what they see, but the final judgement is reserved for the playoffs. -----------------------------------

I just think a sign and trae of BWallace would have been nice but he was a freeagent. The Pistons have less proven players now than they had before but guys like Maxiell are stepping up and that is the difference. The Pistons are successful so they deserve credit only ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Ben seems to only get up for the games against Pistons as of late. And I bet Paxson wishes he'd kept Chandler over Ben and didn't trade Aldridge for Thomas. At the same time Pistons still have one of the best starting fives in the league, and they added the young energetic bench that Flip actually uses, so their starters don't have to put in all the minutes game in and game out. And they look hungry again, they don't take nights off and they try to put an opponent away early. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out. -----------------------------------

But Boston only barely bet the Grizz. Will definately be a big game when the Pistons meet the Celts ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

I think Celts might have been looking past Memphis to the rematch with Detroit. -----------------------------------

Yeah, I saw it more as a trap game. They had their minds on the Pistons so they didn't really focus on the game as much. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

This is pretty interesting - a dropoff in the East after Boston and Detroit. Orlando is kind of in-between, but the rest is just brutal. Cavs look average at best, Chicago, who was projected to be a championship-caliber team has struggled mightily. Milwaukee, thought to be a playoff contender, is plain brutal. And people talk about the power shift with some of the trades. I don't know about that.
