In life, these coffee shop owners will likely have their fair share of BS because of their attitudes and actions. It's the way you live your life that will determine what hand you're dealt. Put yourself in good situations and good things will follow. Trying to screw over a former employer is not a good position to put yourself in.
In brief, take the high road and you'll never have regrets.

Currently working in the mall at this awesome pastry/coffee/sandwich/breakfast place that just opened up. Employers are very nice and I managed to increase pay from the last job by nearly a dollar. Plus the hours are way better and I am working with some people my age, which is nice. Actually already forming some good friendships and a few of us made plans to grab some drinks after first paycheck, so that should be pretty sweet![]()
I just want to reiterate how much I appreciate the help from everybody on this board, as you likely saved me from wasting money in a legal battle that probably would have just drained happiness from me.
After a tough job hunt and a few months on penny pinching, I am back in the workforce in probably the best possible position I could be in. Thanks again, everybody.

I actually passed this on to my mom's friend's daughter and she basically said the same thing. Move on. Apologies for not letting you know what she said, as I can get backtracked at times. Hope things go much, much better there.
