Can somebody give me the Reader's Digest/Cliffs Notes version of how this subject has evolved to this point?

I have gone back through the varius threads and am still a bit clueless on how we have digressed to where we are today.

One general statment for the board: "Any topic of discussion, even the politically controversial ones, is better than the free throw guy rambling about free throws."

For women, migya "bashed" cheerleaders, Rihanna, and just random chicks overall. For gay, not sure. Racist, migya used the N-word freely with no apology.

Those are just quick notes. If you want an explanation, well... that'd be tough. All of his negatives are spread out.

Riiiiiiight.

Cause its not like you specifically singled-out anyone. It's not like you're blatantly siding with the overseas crowd or calling out "those who want to leave". You're just referring to evvvverybody, huh?

That announcement was clearly aimed at me and no one else.

NO ONE was beefing with overseas members besides me. NO ONE was saying they'd leave besides me. And to top it off, there was zero mention of sexist remarks or inappropriate comments because, god forbid, a harmless BS debate over credibility that I put an end to after a single day should take precident over a brush-off, non-issue like blatant sexism. Way to put that acclaimed moral compass to use, you 4.

Nice handle on the situation, by the way. Way to attempt to "put me in my place". Wow. An online lecture. Real effective. ::lol:

Anyways, thanks for singling me out. And thanks for totally responding to the situation like I predicted. I knew no one would get punished. I knew no one would get repremanded. The mods here are spineless and that post did nothing but confirm that. "Passive" is a glass half full way of saying "weak" in this situation. Regardless, this is a clear cut sign of how this place has gone completely into the ground. You wanna act like big, tough mods and anonymously clown on me because migya's judge-in-the-pocket is swaying the discussion (thats being kept secret for a reason). Go ahead. Act hard because you can lock threads and delete spam. Cool with me. colt was right. This place isn't worth it anymore. Enjoy arguing with the crowd you've shaped to be here. You officially got one less member to worry about. And, yes, I fully understand that you'll probably delete this message.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I coulda swore this was a sports forum when I first got here. Opened to debate, encouraged to back up your points, and not piss-your-pants scared of anybody disagreeing. But apparently I was wrong. This is a sewing circle where sissy ass pansies all talk about their feelings and try to keep everything overly PC.

Peace to the unfortunate minority.

(Now cue all the parting shots. And don't discriminate. Go ahead, mods. Set the example, as you always have. 32's giving you one final thread that'll go for pages and pages. Oh wait. You're probably gonna lock it after a couple responses. Pussies.)

You know my college track coach was the master at handling team issues just like this. Instead of singling out specific people on the team, he would address the whole team to make his point.

It served not only as a warning to those actually involved by also made expectations clear to the entire team.

I personally think its a fair way to set forth clear guidelines.

My favorite take away from Coach Strametz's strategy was he would close the discusssion with :"...and if you feel like I am talking about you, then you are probably part of the problem."
This season is not a flop.

The above quote is from the Rhianna thread, This shouldn't be acceptable on this moderated Warrior board period :!:

Like I said, the very few INSECURE members got uptight and upset over anything that is outside the so called "politically correct" boundaries. They fail to even see humour in most statements. They do not speak for everybody, yet try to make it like they do.

Thanks for the awareness jimbob

It’s via special access for members who want to participate. This is a bar scene, a comedy club, a strip club, whatever. It’s like Vegas instead of the other Politically Correct forums. But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Mods can decide the extent. Language is more free-flowing, humor is there, and people there can feel more themselves. This place needs an outlet, that’s for damn sure.
I’ll be there, and will be on this board much more. :thumbleft:

We had a forum like that once, with no moderation at all (except to erase porn links and things like that). Problem is, not many people posted in there. It must have had like 10 or 12 threads max in its history, so it's not like it was a big success.

Maybe we could try something like that in the off-topic, instead of creating a new forum. Be more careful with what we allow on the Warriors forum (and others) and relax the grip a bit more on the off-topic. That could be an option.

I remember that, but I though it was for people to flame and what have you. As for the Off Topic forum, well, other people who might be sensitive to things or language use that forum, too. That would be like sticking a Hooters bar inside the Vatican. It won’t fly.

I’d like to suggest designating a place (could even be a thread) where some can feel more at ease and others who are sensitive can/have to stay away. That’s how a community works with different places and venues for various people to go to. It’s unfortunate that it has to be this way because this is just a Internet Sports Message Board (and a great one), not our church, or a political party site, or an activist affiliation site, etc. You’ll have some disagreements at times (no direct insults, of course), but so what? People are entitled to their opinions just like the ones being vocal.

And if something can be learned via a good, honest/lighthearted talk, the better.

F*ck! I just noticed. 700 Club :banghead:

Cmon migya, u still not admitting u were offensive on the rihanna thread is pathetic. And calling people insecure (og broe, 32, myself, others)cuz they don't feel like agreeing with your sexism statement? how is that insecure migya? i see it the other way around actually.

Now mig, i never have had problems with you, and besides that thread, you and me are pretty cool. Plus, i love smack talking you on fantasy basketball and reading wat u gotta say in this forum. But why dont you just apologize for your extreme statement and we can all move on.

Don't see how I can be insecure by looking at a topic from more than one angle. People who resist such talk are the ones that are.

I don't feel that I have to apologise for my statement in that thread, as I didn't single out anyone. The only one here that could have felt offended or uncomfortable is Capt Jack, because she is a woman, and to her I apologise for any misunderstanding.

I have explained my reasons and that is that. I'm not the one going on about it, you are right now. I had left this subject, as everybody else did, a while ago now, do the same

Thanks, TMC and Ritz. But I mentioned The 700 Club for the state of this board: a freakin’ church and no Hooters!

Also, I’m trying to beat loyalty for being a tenured and regular member, but having the fewest posts. But I can’t.

Wow, where do I start. I didn't know about the Rhianna thread. all i can say is Wow, I think that is really bad. I guess being a racial minority I can see wher some things really hurt. I guess if you not a minority of any group you might think these are too PC. But try walking in the shoes of a black, woman , gay, etc and see how ift feels to be dumped on or have people like you feel dumped on.

A year or so ago I took a lot of personal abuse by defending Mikael Pietrus from being called dumb. A lot of people (a few in particular) called me dumb or stupid because I didn't agree with them). Just recently our beloved Capt. Jack said Iwas acting like a douche. I would never say that she was acting like a condom because its just not right for civilized people to talk to one another that way.

Look, this place is not the local bar where everybody is the same. We should be somewhat PC correct to make evryone feel welcome. I guess it's hard to see unless you are one of the minority groups I mentioned. Too bad, because we are Warrior fans too. Words like ******, bitches, fags, etc. should never be tolerated. Even calling people dumb and stupid is offensive enough. Why can't we just disagree without saying the posters is dumb by saying that?

When I first strated here I thought is was a friendly site that wanted fan participation. I found it to be a boys club that only wanted people that fit a certain mode. I became very disapoointed and i don't post as regular as I use to. I am actually going to agree with 32 on one point: I think the moderators should be more forceful to ensure that everyone feel welcome here or else you are just going to have young, white, heterosexual males as part of this forum. People like me (black and proud) and other minorities are going to stay away. Maybe there is a reason why Capt. Jack is the only woman in the forum.
