ok, I cant take it any more........ I have to get this off my chest....
I like Carrie Underwood's music! WTF is WRONG with me! I dont like country... never have... but there is something about her songs that keep me listening.... I dont like her as in I would buy an album of hers but I dont turn the channel when a song of hers comes on... and you know what, you might actually catch me singing along for a few bars! this is perhaps my biggest shame but it felt good to confess.... This might be a cry for help

Nothing wrong with liking Carrie.... just getting in touch with your country roots.

I think the super-patriotic and religious stuff ruined country music for many, got associated with the GOP red state thing. Remember how country performers who spoke out against Bush were blacklisted from country stations in the South. Bluegrass is great. The musicians can play and their instruments are interesting. Of course the Dueling Banjos thing didn't help! Thanks for the heads up on the bands. You might want to check out Otis Taylor, starting with Ran so Hard the Sun Went Down. |

Carrie Underwood is pleasing to the eye. that's why you like her bada.
I hate country like almost everyone else in the bay. I had to live in the Stockton,CA for a while though - I couldn't believe they had 2 or 3 country stations! and there were kids my age that actually liked it! Jonny Cash is cool, Bluegrass is fun to listen to live. that's about it |
