Actually I tried to change it seeing as how Matt isn't on the team anymore and it wouldn't let me. It kept saying that it updated it, but then I had no avatar. So I tried to go back and put in my old one (thinking I must have screwed up the dimensions on the new ones) and that wouldn't work either! Help! I might die without an avatar!!!!!! (ok not really, I'm just that bored).

Hmmm, weird that you couldnt change it back to your old one............where are you hosting the pics for the avatar from? photobucket or one of those kind of things.
If its photobucket, which I would recommend, then it has a "Edit" fuction, that allows you to re-size the image to "Avatar" size, which is obviously perfect and ideal. The bit on here though is supposed to re-size it automatically but Ive always found that it doesnt............sometimes if works for awhile then disapears, Ive only ever got mine to work by re-sizing within/from the place that I am hosting it. Let me know what you are using and we'll see what we can do Cap.

same thing for me. Everytime I try to load my avatar I get these weird error messages.

Bigs I'm using photobucket and I resize all my images before I try to use them as avatars, I don't trust the resizing thing on the site either.
There's gotta be something weird 'cause like I said my old one wouldn't work either and it was definitely the right size seeing as how it's worked for months (and has worked on other message boards). Bada, glad it's not just me! I thought I was going crazy and I suddenly forgot how to use my computer! |

Ahh, ok then..........it must be the site then. I just tried to upload an avatar on my girlfriends profile (didnt want to screw up my own and she doesnt have one........so hey! ) and got this =
Is that what you guys are getting? *EDIT* - I just tried it again and seems to be working..........make sure you guys are using the "Direct Link" from photobucket and then use the "Link to off-site Avatar" option on here............give that a try. |

Thanks Bigs...I think I'm just dumb! I was putting it in the "URL" section, not the "off-site avatar" one...maybe I should learn to read.

No worries, I tried the "URL" option on my first test...........so your not alone.
