Yeah, what's up with that? George Carlin and Bernic Mac in the same year. I know Mac wasn't a genius when came to comedy, but he still was good enough. I guess it was their time.

All-time for me would be Richard Prior, Redd Foxx (saw him in Vegas), Eddie Murphy and George Carlin. Although with Carlin, when I saw him in Vegas about 5 years ago, the guy who opened for him was actually way better.
I also like Chris Rock, George Lopez and Carlos Mencia. I saw Mencia twice, and the last performance I saw him in about 3 years ago, he closed the night and went nearly 3 hours. We got a freakin’ treat! As most of you already know, this guy has a “no holds barred” style, and he's vicious during his stand-up show. This Thursday, I’m going to see The Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli. This girl is freakin’ hillarious, too, and like Carlos Mencia, she, too, has a “no holds barred” style and goes after everybody. |

Lisa Lapanelli is hilarious! Her roast of Flavor Flav was over the top.
For some reason, I can't stand Mencia or Menstealia as he's become known in the comedy community. It has nothing to do with his subject matter. Just his overall delivery and the fact that he steals jokes. George Lopez threw him up against a wall once and almost beat his ass over stealing a joke. He's talented, just not my cup of tea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3pIsA0Q ... re=related

Yeah, Lisa was hilarious in the Roast of Flavor Flav. I still have that on my DVR, and also the roast of Pamela Anderson. Those guys are brutal.
As for Mencia, I actually saw him Live twice: over 3 years ago (before Mind of Mencia) and about 6-7 years ago before he blew up. He came out like gangbusters, was original, and was the big buzz in SoCal. I heard something about him being accused of stealing jokes, but I think most do, in a sense, with certain subjects—especially if it’s news or certain ethnic stuff, etc. They just spin it slightly differently. But as of late, his material has been the same and it’s getting old, so I don’t really follow-him as much anymore. He was really fresh when he first came out and, no doubt, the best stand-up sh*t I’ve ever seen Live. As for shows, Dave Chappelle is much better. He’s very creative and just outright hilarious. I don’t know if you saw that skit where he was this blind guy who thought he was White and was the leader of KKK. That was some funny sh*t! As for my Pinoy brothers out there, don’t know if you heard of this guy, Ron Josol (Canadian), but he’s hella funny. Yeah, this guy, Dore, is very funny!
I’d also post one of Lisa Lampanelli, but she may be too offensive to some. But I'm looking forward to seeing her this week. Here’s another of Ron Josol, the Filipino comedian. The sound is bad, but turn it up (& lower the bass) ‘cause he’s a freakin' non-stop riot. |

this guy Ron Josol is great! I hope he does well. Lisa Lampanelli is definitely too offensive. The reason she gets away with it is: - she's funny - she looks like an insane 1950's housewife in a little girls doll's dress - she makes fun of herself - she's very capable of offending the sensitive but she doesn't try to be hurtful. -she's an equal opportunity offender. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3pIsA0Q ... re=related

You’re absolutely, right. Plus, she’s highly confident in her routine & delivery and doesn’t fear anyone. People know what she brings already, and they just roll with it.

One of the funniest bits about her on the Flavor Flav roast was when, I want to say it was Jimmy Kimmel, pointed out Ron Jeremy in the audience, the incredibly hairy and ugly porn legend, then said, "and his twin brother, Lisa Lampanelli". and it was true, they kind of look alike. she was a good sport. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3pIsA0Q ... re=related

Ha, ha. That’s right. She was the funniest, and she was also a great sport. Kimmel, I think, said her twat was so big, they were doing the show inside it right now. I think it was Ice T who said he didn’t hit it, ‘cause when he got "there," there was a fire marshal turning away people.

Speaking of Roasts... I believe the Bob Saget Roast was on recently
He's that guy from Full House fame. You never would have guessed but he's an incredibly funny standup comedian with a foul mouth delivery. Rodney Dangerfield loved his stuff and booked him regularly at his club. Yeah, I know about Saget, and I never did like him in Full House or as the host of AFV. I thought he was extremely corny. As for his roast, I missed it, but I'm catching it tonight on the Comedy Channel. This should be great!
And I was really surprised to see that he’s a foul-mouth comic. It just seems odd, but he’s better at it than his acting or hosting. Speaking of Rodney, how could I forget about him. The man is a true legend. I also liked Sam Kinison and Andrew “Dice” Clay back in the days. |

As far as I know, Bob Saget's roast hasn't happened yet. Unless you have Direct TV, of course. It shows on at 10PM PT. John Stamos is the roast master. Stamos as roast master sounds odd but they were good friends when they did Full House together, so I can understand that. Hope it's funny, because I'm still laughing from the Roast of Flavor Flav.
